I would say the SVU or VSS is the best rifle to use with the RDS, the SVU just being a semi-auto version of VSS.

Patch made it the same as SV98 tbh.mtb0minime wrote:

Provided you get a hit on the first shot? Gol/M95. Oh and for the lulz VSS + RDS
Pre-patch it was no doubt the M95.
Now however, since all the bolt-actions do the same damage, my vote goes to the SV98 for its bigger clip and faster reloading. And while for long range sniping there are still differences between the rifles (such as accuracy, bullet drop), for close quarters fighting it is in theory the best bet, although in honesty i've not tried it since the patch.

VSS no question about it...
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Not really thread worthy, because everyone knows you shouldn't be using a sniper with rds. Silly goose.

Using a sniper without a RDS is faggotish

because if you are as close as you should be, then the RDS is a better option than a regular scope.DUnlimited wrote:

but 12x scope = faggotish.

hard to say, after going through them all it more like which two. For long range fire M95 with magnum, for close quarters/running with squad: Vss
If you want to run around with your squad... pick a medic/assault/engineer -.-
Well, armed with a close quarter weapon having a recon (not sniper) provides good forward detection; keeping the squad aware of enemies. This is really useful when capping flags. So no, i disagree with you.Hallvard wrote:

Plus using C4 on buildings and capping dudes with a shottie is pretty fun.jsnipy wrote:

And yes, the remote sensors are very handy.
true, but even without a shotgun, the vss with a red dot is almost like an assault rifle.Jaekus wrote:

Hmm, haven't tried that one yet, will have to soon methinks...
This thread is gay, the VSS wins because it's basically an assault rifle..
and everything else sucks with reddot since acog / ironsights + other perk is far better...

RDS/ACOG/12x always seem like a waste of a spec to me.
edit: 12x is a waste too

Yeah, why not use the 12x scope like the pro dawgsCodePhoeniX wrote:

I got platinum with the VSS. Never use the RDS, use the default scope and extra ammo. It burns through ammo like no other weaponjsnipy wrote:
