Just spent a round using the M95 (finally got it) with the red dot scope.
What a gun.

How's it like?
Kills anybody within about 40 yards (i read that somewhere) instantly. So if you have a good aim (I did suprisingly well in the round I was in) it's devastating. I don't count it among the 'cheap' weapons at all though because it requires perfect aim and if you miss you're often dead.

Took me some getting used to the first few rounds. But after that it really is awesome. Getting hosed by an M60, turning around and one-shotting the fecker is pure win!Spidery_Yoda wrote:

But if you miss, well, better luck next time.
Many a time I had the feeling the aiming was just a bit off though. Might be due to slight movements on my part, not sure.

As far as I'm aware, the miniguns on the hawk were incorrectly named as railguns.
He's talking about the M95.
It's a pun since it acts like a railgun.

Any one uses FRAPS to find out their FPS?
My frame-rate is 60 with medium settings, screen res 1280x1024.
I plan on upgrading my video card (8800GTX) so I can turn on all of the eye-candy.

In that case, you need atleast a 5850....loubot wrote:

My 4870OC runs ~60fps @ medium settings with 2x AA & 1x AF 1680x1050

my 4870 at stock settings runs that fps on high settings, 1xAA and 1xAF at the same resolution. derpFloppY_ wrote:

My 5770 (about same as 4870 1gb) + II 945+ @1280x1080 runs everything high at 60+ FPS on 32 player maps (both OC'd a bit) might need to tone down a bit for my new Full HD monitor though...
Must be my E8500 holding it back then...haffeysucks wrote:

I was merely showing an example of a good fun game with bf2s'ers on both sides. You can see it was competitive from the kills/deaths.
I'm running all high (with bloom=false though) on a 5770, 1440x900 on a 19" widescreen LCD, average about 60fps.FloppY_ wrote:

Must say, the best upgrade for this game is to give it 4 cores. On my E5200 (3.2Ghz) I got around 40 FPS max on low at 1680x1050, stuck in a Q9300 at 3Ghz and now I'm getting 60-80 on high at the same res (1xAA and AF).
that's great to hear. i was getting so used to games not being optimized for 4 cores. i'm glad that there's an actual improvement with having 4 cores vs 2.Finray wrote:

So, it seems I´m encountering an increasing number of situations, where the only viable option to further the progress of winning is to equip the M60/GL to plow through the endless spam of said weapons.
So far the best way to counter a tuber is to tube him first, it seems...

I think it was miggle today who asked a guy why he killed miggle with the noobtube when he had clear situational advantage. His response "Because I can't aim. It's AOE or nothing".Sisco10 wrote:
