Ok, can someone explain "Clock Hours" and "Credit Hours" to me.
Please?
Clock hours: actual amount of lecture/discussion/etc. time; i.e. time spent in the classroom.
Credit hours: # of units/hours you're taking. Each class has a number of units associated with it, usually relative to how difficult it is or how much class time and outside time is involved.
Usually, but not always. [I could go on and on about how the easy english and art history classes are worth more units than an engineering or intense science course, but since the engineers and scientists have to take more classes, the # of units the classes are worth are lowered so that engineers and scientists graduate with 400 units while the artsy fartsy people graduate with 10.]
In many cases, the numbers will be the same, but not always.
My last quarter in college I had 12 units/credit hours, but 14 hours of class time (2 hours twice a week for two classes and 3 hours twice a week for a third class).
