Yeah, my friends' friends-list got wiped somehow when they updated steam earlier today, so I wouldn't try ANYTHING until something gets fixed.
Friend list is still wiped though
People mentioned missing games as well. I'm waiting a few days on this.
I got it straight away and my friends list is still fine.

In case anybody wants their games list to look nice and simple like the old version, first click on: View > Games List, then go to the list itself, right click on the 'Games' tab and untick images.
Yes I agree it is all slow. I liked how un-laggy Steam used to be.
Another cool thing you can do is go to News, and on the right hand side you can click TF2 or L4D Blog, so you can keep up from within Steam itself.

Oh hey if you set it to 'Game Details', and click on HL2, Episode 1 and Opposing Force it lists their Steam Achievements even though we don't actually have any.

the list was working, it just deleted everybody.

Browser seems faster overall I quite like it.
I've created 2 new categories for my games. Singleplayer and Multiplayer.
So when i'm offline I can bring up a list of all my singleplayer games, and when i'm online I can bring up a list of online games if I want .
