Catchy music, but it sounds like he records in a dorm room with fruity loops which isn't bad per se, but it comes across as simple, no style, no edginess, no polish.

This is true, but this was his debut album, no? If he makes his $ his next album should be better.

The new album (man on the moon) actually has quite a few songs I like. Normally I don't really care for main steam hip hop, but man on the moon is a very solid album.

Meh, not really into the dubstep scene anymore so I can't really comment on the misappropriation of the genre. If I like what I hear I usually remember it, but a good chunk of dubstep I hear doesn't really suit my tastes. Definitely don't have my ear to the pavement there as much as reggae, hip hop and indie.
