I lead climb 5.10 ( when I am in shape ).
i have done dozens of 350 meter cliffs and a few 1000 meter routes,
the highlight of my climbing career was a two hour car to car ascent of Cathedral Peak in Yosemite as well as a 5.10c crack climb in Joshua Tree and five days spent climbing The Triple Direct on El Capitan.
here is a video of some other guys on the same route;
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OnB4oOtD0w
other notable climbs in my mind;
Tunnel Vision --Red Rocks
White Punks On Dope-- The Needles
Human Fright--Taquitz
Solid Gold--Suicide Rock
My free solo of The Blob in Joshua Tree and The Trough at Big Rock
Topping out on The West Face of The Leaning Tower in Yosemite with lightening crashing down all around us
Summer Sojourne--The Needles

Now: Racquetball twice a week for 1 hour + cycling when I have the time.
Sports highlights:
*American Football - 1 game for the National team against St. Olaf (US) that we lost + 1 game for the National team against Sweden that we won (I scored 1 TD)
*Area Champion in Pool twice in the late 80's

I am have to going to challenge you on your home court.
Play and Coach Hockey. The astroturf/grass kind that girls tend to play more than boys. This is just a myth, but mates reckon its cos I get to wear a skirt. Have played it for 20+ years now and have helped my club out by being captain of one of our teams for over 10 years. Been coaching our juniors for 15 years now, first started coaching when I was 11.
I play cricket, semi retired though due to having a new Mrs. I was at the club on Saturday with her and our two girls, I got asked 'if I was playing today', I looked at my Mrs and replied 'No, I'd rather do this'. Didnt go down to well, but her and them respect my way with words isn't too god and they knew what I ment'. I have my Daughter every weekend as she lives with her Mum, Id rather spend the day with 'the family' than stood in a field chasing after a lil red ball.
Ive been lucky to play against Glamorgan and The Welsh Rugby team a few times, Ive played vs footballers. Currently hold a Welsh (possibly British) record of
11 Overs
7 Wickets
4 runs conceded
We bowled a team out for just 11. Was a proper Saturday league fixture.
I like both sports in equal measures as hockey lasts 1 hour, cricket lasts for about 8.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I used to do alot of Football, Cricket, Swimming and Cycling. Now it's just Football and the odd Running sessions. Running isn't really a sport, just exercise
I was never good at Tennis as nobody ever bothered to actually teach us at school, infact that went for every sport, you either knew it somehow or you didn't. Our school really was awful when it came to sports, It's all good having a nice big field and tennis courts etc.. but if the teachers are shit and can't be bothered to teach the basics what's the point. Same goes for Rugby. They teach you the odd fucking rule here and there but never the basic techniques. Same goes for all the Track and field events like Javelin etc.. it pisses me off just thinking about it, that's why I hated P.E, we used to just skip those classes and go play football out in the park instead.

That's probably a disadvantage, you're old and therefore in danger of breaking a hip if you move too fast.Varegg wrote:

Pretty sure he meant that he doesn't run in the sense of competing/etc. Seems like a perfectly good reason to exclude it from the list of sports that he plays.
