So, this old lady was going to the dentist and "couldn't find the break peddle". The result? She drove through the dental office, striking one of my co-workers and pinning him against a wall. He broke his legs, pelvis and ribs. Worst than that, while in the hospital, he suffered 3 major heart attacks during/after surgery and went into a coma. He died last night.

Stupid fucking old cunt needs to fucking pay. God damn old people piss me off so fucking much. I hope she burns in hell.

R.I.P.
That's one of the worst things to happen. I'm deeply sorry, thoughts to their family.

I agree with you on the driving for seniors. While I know some elderly people who can drive admirably, the vast majority are just simply too old to drive--their reflexes and their physical abilities are compromised. I think they should have to pass a strict test every year. In Ontario, I believe it's an information session every two years or something to that effect. Not sufficient.

Again, my condolences.

Shall we add old people to the list of the deaths caused by stupidity along side all of the stupid teenager caused deaths and drunk drivers of all ages deaths?

Not many people left to drive.

And i agree with you. fuck old people driving, they just CAN'T drive! I had several experience with old people behind/in front of me on the road... Driving license should be removed after 65 years old or some...

You can change people's minds and behaviours. You can't rectify physical/mental deficiencies. Clearly this accident was a result of the latter.

This is getting pretty rediculous.

I assume you all know that one day you will no longer be seventeen, eighteen, or twenty years old. (The worst drivers by the way),

One day you will have found yourself all grown up and still having a reason to drive for something other than a beer run.

Sadly, he was in for a simple chipped tooth.

The old lady had to steer around trees and posts and across a field before hitting the office. I think something else is behind it. She told the firefighters that "I couldn't find the break". Bullshit.

As far as young people driving, I want the Finnish policy adopted.

What do you mean change peoples minds and behaviors? Teenage drivers are the most irresponsible drivers on the road. Their only hope is to survive teenage years to become an adult without killing themselves their friends or strangers.

No, it was just a random accident. I'm still thinking that she had a vendetta against the dentist or something.

I don't deny that teenagers are the most irresponsible drivers. However, in order to become better drivers, they must change their attitudes and midsets about driving. Lowing, case in point is the fact that you yourself stated that they become better drivers once they are adults; that they have "survived". Thus, that demonstrates that clearly one can change said mindsets and behaviours. I think you're just circling around here.

That being said, of course, I stand by my assertion that you cannot rectify physical deficiencies, even if the woman had a vedetta against the doctor and didn't actually have a problem (which I doubt).

They don't become 'better' it's just all the shit ones have already crashed and died. And how can you put an 'age' requirement on something? I know 80 year olds who are more alert, physically active and mobile then some 40 or 50 year olds. I don't have a problem with retesting every 5 or so years, but it should be required for everyone no matter your age.

As in? Yes, getting a license at 18 as opposed to 16 is very good, no complaints, but the 2nd stage of driving license is fucking bullshit. Basically they just force us to pay for tests that we don't even have to pass decently, they can't take our licenses even if we do nothing right and act like asses in the 2nd stage. It's just a plot to make more money out of driving license. The old system of 80 kmph max for the first two years of driving was much better.

Shh... what's wrong with paying average 1650 €uros for B-card? (I think that was the average when the compared prices in Finland.)

On my ford f150 if I am not careful my foot snags the gas when I step on the brake. I almost plowed into a guy a few weeks back.

We had a guy here in So. Cal who plowed through a farmers market and killed ten people, he was 80+.

My paternal Grandmother was killed along with my aunt in a crossing walk in SLC in 1998. The guy was 45.

You should try to forgive tragedy when there was no intent.

RIP, my thoughts go out to you and your co-worker's family.

I can't say I know exactly how you're feeling, but one of my cousins was riding her bike (with a helmet on) along a road (in the bike lane) and an old lady suddenly swerved into her and plowed her into a ditch. Fortunately she survived, but not after being hospitalized for a long time and everyone was unsure if she would make a recovery.

People that lack basic cognitive and/or motor skills should not drive.  Doesn't matter what age you are.  It should be a requirement to pass a driving test (behind the wheel) every 5 or so years, maybe less as you get older.

Think about your grandma as you say, "god damn old people piss me off so fucking much."  Not much respect for our elders here in the US.  We stick them in "homes", make fun of them, treat them as second-class citizens...really a shame actually.

I bet the lady feels aweful.  Sorry about your friend, sorry he died in such a freak accident.  People should have to take driver tests every couple years from ages 15-26 and 65 - Death because those ages account for the biggest problems when it comes to accidents.

Compulsive retests over the age of 65, every 5 years. Give them all free bus passes.
