Fah runs like 10-20C cooler than real 3D load. It doesn't utilize everything on the core, like the memory. It's not unusual to be able to reach 50MHz higher clocks for fah than for gaming.Mutantsteak wrote:

I bet I could get alot out of my 4870 but I'm a bit concerned because right now I am runnig on stock cooling idling around 49C and a load around 64C. I really don't want to burn it out by running it loaded for too long
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
