How did you get the taskbar to become transparent? It looks nicer than it being solid.

As long as nothing's maximized, and you're using the Aero theme, it should be transparent.

That's weird. Mine is transparent but only when I pull something underneath it.

How do you make it so it's transparent all the time?

hmm, it's apparently already set to Aero, but even when I don't have anything maximized, it's barely transparent (if it's even transparent at all). Strange, although it's not a big deal.

If you're using Vista, there should be a preferences button in the theme folder.

If you're using Windows Blinds for XP, you need to configure the transparency.

I don't understand the fascination with docks .

Windows Key + R = Run.

firefox.exe (or whatever else).

And why don't people just link folders on the taskbar instead of having a pointless desktop shortcut .

For a long time, I didn't understand it either, I tried installing them multiple times, but never used them,

then one day I was reading the "Timahhh's Windows Makeover" thread, and I installed rocketdock, been hooked on it since.

BTW: I also use Launchy for Windows - R

I had my last wallpaper for four months, still counting on the desktop.

My current desktop:

It's a motherfucking hyena riding a bike

EDIT: Icons are sorted like this:

Row 1: Games
Row 2: System info
Row 3-5: Misc

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
