Now it's about time we make this, BF2s OC showoff thread. This "competition" is split in two separate tables, the max OC speed table and the max OC % table. To get your OC on the table post a screenshot of your CPU-Z main screen showing your overclock (get CPU-Z here). This is not a stability competition, the fact that you have booted to Windows is enough of a stability proof. If same speed/percentace appears, AMD wins and then cheaper CPU wins.

You do not have to post anything else, I will automatically add you to both tables and count your OC %. Everyone can post max 3 results, one per CPU. If you want your result to be updated, post a new screen and tell it's for the same CPU.

DISCLAIMER! IF YOU DECIDE TO GO SUICIDE RUN FOR RESULTS, I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY OF DESTROYED HARDWARE. OVERCLOCK AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT DO DO.

Here come the tables:

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton, stock 1.917GHz. 20% OC. Stupid mobo won't let me set NB voltage, so I can't go over 2.3 stable. It's incredible how mucht he nForce sucks at FSB over 200.

I just wanted to say I can never make an 80% OC on air since my CPU has a 45nm structure and it doesn't allow such high vcores. Still nice OC DU and good thread!

It's because your CPU is 3GHz stock. If it was 2GHz stock, you'd get a much higher % OC.

A 2GHz 45nm can very well do an OC of 3.6GHz. Just look at mine, it's a 45nm dual, a quite poor one, too, that's done a 70% oc on air. On LN2, it's been to 5.3GHz.

It's all about stock speeds, you see. Your CPU runs at 3GHz stock. My CPU, for example, runs at 2.53GHz stock. Clocking my CPU to 3GHz already presents an 18% overclock. My CPU at 3.6 is 49%, whilst your CPU on 3.6 is only overclocked my 20%.

That's because 2.66 to 3.2 is nothing. 20%, gimme a break. I run on around 50% for everyday use, and it's certainly a difference. 50% more PPD, heavily increased gaming performance... Yes thank you.

OCing rarely has any effect on stuff like word processing, or things where other pieces of hardware present bottlenecks.
