Managed to get 8(!) strikes in a row in the end on bowling. The achievement guides were a nice helper, although I had to adjust to the instructions... took about an hour . Fun though, haha.

The Multiplayer for me (Xbox360) is fairly inconsistent. Actually scratch that- it's very inconsistent. Whether I go for an innocent Player Match or a Ranked gangbang, I always end up 'Loading' for about 2 minutes to just find myself in my own 1-man server. Pretty poor to be honest-- if consoles are supposed to 'auto-assign' each player to a server, why do they do it so poorly? Gief server-browser list like PC games tbh .

Not that I go to ATM's to check my balance all the time.. I've only done it once and that was when I was right next to one.

I'm not quite sure what I make of the Multiplayer for this game.

Either it's brilliant and I've as of yet been confounded by it and miss it's brilliance, or it's as I fear- shallow and gimmicky. I've played through all of the gametypes several times and they all seem alright for 'one-hit-wonders'- but I can't imagine the Multiplayer of this game having any real longevity, - speaking for myself of course.

That said, everyone knows the GTA games are about the Story Mode .

Yup, I feel the same. I am quite disappointed frankly. But the SP was enough.

Yup, I feel the same. I am quite disappointed frankly. But the SP was enough.

I actually haven't played any of the MP game modes, i just hop on free roam with some friends and mess around. Epic lulz.

I think it's simply limited by its own scope and scale: GTA throws in a bit of everything into a giant sandbox world- and so hence when you play Deathmatch online you find it lacks complexity and FPS-refinement. But that is only to be expected... I for one cannot criticize the changes they've made to the 'combat' system; the cover mechanics and auto-aim works like a beaut . Quite simply just boils down to specialised gametypes (Deathmatch, Racing etc.) being half-decently executed in an unspecialised sandbox game.

And yes- getting the 100% 'Keys To The City' status, along with all of the Xbox SP / MP achievements... will consume enough time alone without even having to give the Multiplayer a real look

The MP simply doesn't work...And when it works, about 3 players are playing in the same room.

Next time, they might want to invest time in a Beta, like Metal Gear Solid.

I managed to fix my Multiplayer issues at the expense of blowing open all of my router security: DMZ Enabling, Port Forwarding, Static IP address etc. Can connect to every single server without any drops or flaws now .

RE: The Social Club. My Social Club account refuses to accept that I 'own' GTA IV. I linked my Xbox360 / Windows Live ID, and it is definitely the correct and valid ID. Is anyone else having issues getting their account to recognize the GTA IV status? I thought that perhaps this was down to excessive demand on the Social Club's servers taking a longtime to update each person's profile... but I do wonder- is it just me? :S.

I don't know why ppl alway say there is problems with MP because i got disconnected maybe twice and one time it was the host that left the game... The only one thing if framerate when its a game with lot of ppl, again maybe its ping? And there is also the rank thing, we can't see shit of the logo beside our name and when you unlock thing, you need to put them right away otherwise when i come back there is only the default one, so i have hat 8/6 - tosrso 6/4 ... :S but the $$ earned stay and "ranks" goes up.

I can play MP whenever i want either with friends or join a game.

Anyone noticed when you blow up a traffic jam with some nades the game slows to like 1fps, disappointing when you could blow up about 50 cars at once in the old ones and get no lag whatsoever, would of thought the newer consoles could handle the explosions.

My friend has a 40 gig version. And a pretty old ish TV. (Like 4-5 years)

Whenever he runs down alot of people, or there is alot of explosions. The game lags. I have read here people with lag. But this seems to be lagging alot more than it should do for a Play station 3?
