Ok, so don't ask me how, but some bitch of a virus is on my laptop. I've used Adaware, Norton, Spybot, and AVG to get rid of it, but its still there!!! I don't have those cds that allow you to reload your cd to what it was from the factory (though, I thought I did, but it just installs an XP upgrade from 95, ghey).

Anyone know of anything more powerful to get his fucking shit off? I'm sick and fucking tired of it and am about to play "gravity wins" with my laptop!!!

Dude just wipe the HD and install fresh copy of the OS.  Try and back up files if you can but just wipe it.

How do you know there is one?

Grab NOD32, it should clean it up in a jiffy.

If it doesn't, then system reformat is the only option.

I was referring to install a new OS period not a restore CD.  Not hard to get one.

Well, basically, it keeps trying to open up windows when I have my wireless card popped in. I get a constant  message stating that there's spyware on my computer and, if you click, tries to take you to spyware killing software. Also, when I ran all my progs to wipe it out, there were tons and tons of malicious shit found. I selected to delete all the files, registry items, everything, but it all stayed.

How do I do a format/reinstall on a laptop though? I don't want to screw it up as we use it quite often when chilling in the living room and watching tv. Thankfully there's nothing it we need. We just surf the net with it.

Well reformatting is very easy.  Windows will do it when you install a copy of it.  It will not harm the hardware at all.  Just make sure you back up files and download the lates drivers before formatting.  I have come across a few virus/spyware that will not go away period and i'd have to reformat.  But most people will say try and remove it first but its just me opinion to reformat.

Did you run adaware, etc, in safe mode?

No, I didn't think of running it in safe mode. I'll try that tonight.

I'll look into reformating as well.

Run all your anti-spyware, anti-virus, anti-everything software from safe mode - prevents many viruses, etc from just re-appearing on the next boot.

Yes.

Also go to run -> msconfig -> startup and uncheck any suspicious programs.  You can uncheck all of them if you're uncertain - it won't hurt your PC.

The free version of this program will take care of it:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Several other people here have had that same virus and it's worked.

NOD32 fucked it up. Seems like the virus is gone, finally. I did ad-aware, NOD32, spybot and the comp is running great.

Also, anyone know why my task manager doesn't come up? Says admin took my rights, but I never changed anything. Any help would be great!

Here try this.

Also glad to hear you did'nt have to format.  I'm probably going to do it to my computer one final time in a couple weeks for new hardware.
