I doubt that.checkyoursix123 wrote:

Think Brittish Imperials v.s. Zulu's,.. they got pwnd.
I dont really know Brits had vast numbers and a empire back then but if the 100 USMC did lose im sure they would have taken 1,000s before any one got near.
Yup, would be called a Pyrrhic victory if they did win...
Do the Marines get to use C4 satchels? Also, is the British Army in shock at seeing time travellers?
Anti personnel mines + fighting in lines = Not goodiNeedUrFace4Soup wrote:

People from 1776 weren't actually stupid or anything... I'm sure the British would wise up pretty fast if they saw the marines were fighting dirty. Standing in a line only works if the enemy does it as well. (I'm not actually sure they even did that all the time back then, it seems most of you just watched "The Patriot" and now you think that's the way they always fought.)

They always stayed in formation because they thought it was "honorable" or something. The 100 Marines would win, hands down. Guerrilla tactics and it's the revolution all over.
ah you saw it aswell last friday or so ? I'm inclined to agree thoughLaidBackNinja wrote:

inane little opines
No, I saw it a couple of years back.. but anyway, I have a hard time believing anyone would be stupid enough to do that, ESPECIALLY if your enemy shows no honor at all. (claymores, sniping etc)dayarath wrote:

someone should make a bf2 mod and we could try this out.
U should ask the Freedom fighters of Baghdad....I bet they know....
Based on sheer numbers, if the British all lined up and walked forward a a slow rate towards the Marines, however many bullets the Marines could throw at them they still wouldn't be able kill them all, at which point the Brits could cutlass them to death. Or something. As someone pointed out in the other thread, the Marines would need to kill 1,000's of troops each, and I really can't see that happening.
Dunno like, on D-Day one German machine gunner cut down something like 3,000 advancing troops (maybe less but).ghettoperson wrote:

Get 100 of these (minus the truck):
And the marines win hands down.
EDIT:
And the marines win hands down.
EDIT:
Someone earlier said that the British army consisted of 12,000 men. Now I don't know where you learned math, but 12,000/100=120...ghettoperson wrote:

Would be fun to see. Marines would win I think... Flashbang rain ftw : D
You don't actually think I bothered to do research to make that post do you? If it's only 12,000 men, then yes I suppose they *could* win. Still be pretty shitty odds for the Marines though. Seeing as battles back then involved getting a fucktonne of people and standing in lines shooting at people in front of you I assumed the army would be slightly larger than just 12k.CrazeD wrote:

are you seriously comparing Muskets to Assualt Rifles or was i sumhow misled? Not only would the marines win. They would do it within hours.Undetected_Killer wrote:
P.P.S. Both armies are armed with the weapons from their own time period.
The morale of the British would be crushed within the first hour of fighting. The Effective range of the M16A4 is 800 meters. With a musket, it's something like 50.
Plus we got these:

even a few of these babies would be more than a match for the British army:

rather have a minigun than have that.
Modern day all the way! FOr starters at night USM would own b/c of NVG, secondly they have a massive range advantage they could kill most of there army before they got with in 150m. But If the British army could get with in 20m with majority of there troops they would win hands down! If the usmc had Say 2 Harriers and a load of GAU and GBU's the battle would be over in a matter of hours. Even if they had 1 105mm howitzer or an m1a2 with no bullets they would just have to run guys over with it like could a 12 pound cannon ball do any thing 2 an M1a2?
I guess its the whole Low tech vs High tech argument
what jord said about snipers:
Well if u think 5 kills 10 seconds they could simply Pick off all of the officers and of course the general

The marines would easily win.
