Meat and milk from cloned animals is safe for human consumption, the US food regulator said in a draft ruling. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that cloned cattle, pigs and goats produced food "as safe as the food we eat every day".

I've been thinking about vegetarianism for quite a while, and from a morality standpoint, now is probably not a bad time to go for it.

EDIT:  If there isn't enough food to go around, people should start thinking about not having 4,5 and 6 kids.  It's selfish and every species has it's population limit.  But that would be the only reason I could think of to clone animals.

I'm fine with cloned food.  What I'm not fine with are the growth hormones we shoot up our livestock with.

only problem is what happens if the cow you are having has been cloned, and something went wrong and it produced a potent poison instead?  I don't know, but here are problems that could arise with cloning that would not be good, especially because we can't predict everything that will happen

most people who are against cloned food have no idea why they're against it. they just have this general, vague sense of uneasiness about it.

it all comes out the same color on the other end, cloned or not.

I think messing with genetics has the potential to kill us all. So I voted no. Ive always believed that our inventive curious nature will lead to our downfall as a species.

That's funny...  I think that's what makes us best.  It is our creativity and intellectualism that separate us from animals....  I think cloning may become the answer to things like world hunger.

The main thing is, what if they start genetically engineering the cloned animals, adding something or taking something out.  Of course, i don't mind them making food healthier, but there is a huge potential for problems there as well
but yeah, i would eat cloned beef...

Its probably an ancient Celtic clock of sorts or some kind of burial stone. Ireland is littered with ancient standing stones. It has something to do with lay lines, which are lines of energy bellow the ground. Allot of churches are built on them. I'm not that well informed on the subject TBH. Although I know IG-Calibre is an oul hippie druid at heart I'm sure he will enlighten you.

This isn't directed at you, just people of your general mindset.

EA makes BF2, and it is a pretty good game yes? But how many people here haven't gone deep into the code to change preferences or to optimize the game, not to mention full out mods. If you believe in this stuff, God did a pretty bang up job creating animals on Earth, but there is always room for improvement.

I'm all for inventing and creating. But this is ALTERING and DUPLICATING, not creating. Everything took along time to evolve to what is is at present, for a reason, because its as close to perfect as it can be.

What I was talking about is altering. Things at present state are not as close to perfect as they can be, and it's naive to think so. Evolution takes a long, long time to take place, and nothing said since we showed up it is done.  Though as another thread discusses humans may have stopped evolution to some degree because of lack of natural selection, it doesn't mean that humans are at the pinnacle of evolution.

I so agree with you on this one...  If I ever decide to raise kids, I'll adopt.  We don't need so many people on this planet.

I'm not really sure how I feel about eating cloned food. It's bad enough that our government uses Flouride in our drinking water, sorbitol in a lot of foods that we eat, etc. (For those that don't know: Those two ingredients chemically alter the brain and rewire it. In an essence... dumb-down the brain. You can find Sorbitol in gum and a lot of other food stocks, and the fact that Flouride was distributed in concentration camps to prevent revolts by keeping the population lucid and mellow should be reason enough for anyone to drink bottled water.) Cloning and gene alteration on such a level as to provide the population with food stuffs just raises a lot of questions for me. I for one, would hesitate from ever eating cloned food at this point.

Here we go again.

The typical question that will never be answered by words but by actions - people may say that they're against it or not, but if it is done then not much you can do.
People think its unetical, but others, me included, believe if God gave us the power to do it then we should learn about it and if it turnsout bad we should stop.

funny thing is, they've been geneticly altering vegetables, wheats, fruits, nuts and the like for a loooooooooong time .
