I just woke up and said to myself.... holy shit, it's christmas.

Seriously.

Now there is a serious side to this... the christmas spirit is dying in me. Answer the poll accordingly, whether you've got christmas spirit or not. I guess. I mean, I kinda lacked the feeling of it last year but not to this extent. I really didn't see Christmas coming. I didn't count the days, I merely acknowledged that it was December, and just another month...

Granted, I'm in Thailand and Christmas only exists to raise shopping prices here and put up 50 foot fake trees...

I'm not giving nor receiving any presents (or at least I think, but I'm not expecting anything). We didn't put up a Christmas tree. We're having a turkey dinner, but we've had turkey dinners all throughout the year, so it's not really that christmassy.

I'm sad.

Yeah, something's missing now. When I was a kid, there was this energy that built up all through December. You could just feel that Christmas was coming, and once the actual day came, it felt like magic all day long. Now December's just the month when I have to start wearing a jacket cuz it's getting cold, and Christmas is just another day hanging out over at my parents' house. Maybe we're too old now, or too cynical. It kinda sucks...

Seeing as you're 11, you still have a few years left. But for many of us older than 16...it doesn't really affect me that much anymore. It's kinda like HOLY BALLS, it doesn't feel like Christmas.

I think the main reason that it doesn't feel like Christmas for me is the weather, it's been so warm out. Meh, another year, another party, a few gifts on the side. No biggie.

I'm excited, I get 2142, and a $30 gift card to Future Shop to go towards Company Of Heroes.

I'm also getting annoyed by the stupid Chritsmas music. Yesterday was my last day of school, and instead of just a normal bell to signal that class was over, they played Christmas music. And it wouldn't stop either. I swear, they played it for like 3 minutes, and then it would stop. 5 times, 3 minutes each, 15 minutes of stupid Chritsmas music, I was getting tired of it.

I feel kinda both ways. Christmas came fast, and it just kinda hit....and it kind of feels like its just going to be another day hanging out at my parents house. But then Im still kinda feeling like 'sweet, i get new stuff monday'.

It's gone for me. I used to be so excited for Christmas since the start of December. Now, I don't even realize it. You're right, I didn't realize that Christmas was coming until the other day when my Christmas vacation started. Hell, I didn't even do any Christmas shopping, my mom went out and bought something for everybody and I just gave her money. I'm also getting all my gifts way before Christmas even comes up too. We usually open our gifts Christmas Eve night, but I already got most of it. Money from my parents, Bruins tickets from my sister, and some stuff from co-workers, gift certificate, lottery tickets, and hot chocolate. It makes even less to look forward to really.

Christmas used to be like a feeling inside of you, but now it's just another day.

I'm 20 and I still clicked "Yay its Christmas!!!"

But I do agree some of the spirit had definitely gone.

I used to get dead excited for all of my new toys. But now its an excuse to get shit faced and eat the best meal of the year.

Although I am looking forward to my rather spiffy new PC (http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.as … KEY=128708).

I guess I'm still a kid at heart.

It's called growing older. Just wait till you get a job in retail, where there is no time to feel anything for Christmas till the actual day and then you sleep half of it because your so exhausted from the long hours leading up to the day because the blimmin' public can't organise themselves a piss up in a brewery and wait till the last minute and then want everything at once and get impatient and don't seem to notice that their child is ripping down some of the decorations you've set up in the shop and when they finally do they blame the store keeper for putting them within reach of a minor and that I'm lucky they don't sue.....

I feel your pain, Tuatara. When I was younger, I worked at Toys 'R Us for over three years and went through four horrible, nightmarish Christmas seasons. 80 hours a week, abusive customers, managers get stressed, hot toys never come in on time... all for the glorious payoff of $4.50/h USD. On top of that, you go home and can't get that stupid version of Jingle Bells sung by the cast of The Lion King out of your head. God help me, I'm having flashbacks...
