These are just some fun tips, forums, and ways to improve your gameplay
that helped me in the game. Thanks for all the tips fromt he bf2s.com
website . Just was bored and wanted to help some people out. Also, dont
be an ass and come on here saying "That's cheating" or "Hacker!"

1. Best Localization FIles Imo :

2. Tip to shorten startup time in game:
Delete all servers in white in your favorites...thanks for tip
OrangeHound.

3. For all you that dont know how to check fps in game:
press the ~ key to bring down console, then type in
"renderer.drawfps 1", then press enter (leave out the "")

4. Lag reduction tip:
Go to C:\..\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
then delete everything in that file.

6. To fix your hitregistration: By Sargev1.4

1. Go to C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\settings
2. Open usersettings.con in notepad
3. Change the value of the line "SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime" to X
4. Play around with x, many say 400 works best, some say around 40.
It is origionally set to 100

7. How to stop the ringing effect after a friendly grenade explodes
near you: By Sargev1.4
1. Go into Program Files\EA games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\settings. edit
2. Open notepad called sound.con
3. Change the number at the end of rem ** Factor of explosion radius that triggers the tinnitus effect
vars.set sound-tinnitus-range... to 0.0 as shown below
4. Change to rem ** Factor of explosion radius that triggers the tinnitus effect
vars.set sound-tinnitus-range 0.0

8. Now for the latency compensation, this is for accuracy...:By mporlier
1. When in-game bring up the console and type the following command.
"SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.1"
Of course the 0.1 means 100ms. So, press tab, look at your ping and replace
the 0.1 with a more accurate figure eg. "0.04" (for a ping of 40ms). Remember
when typing the command, don't include the quotes ("").

Tips: If ping is 9 change to 0.009
If ping is 29 change to 0.029
If ping is 170 change to 0.170

13. If reinstalling Bf2 and to backup your profile info,control settings,screenshots etc.
Save the "Battlefield 2" folder from My Documents and if u reinstalled it just copy back !

14. You hate to wait and skip all the movies when your game is loading up ?
Go into: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies and you see all movie files.Now rename the following ones: Dice,EA,Intro,Legal -> Dice1,EA2,Intro3,Legal4 (or write anything after it)
So when u load up the game you will have ur account login screene pop up !

15. You can completely skip the intro and login screen.
Right click on the Shortcut Icon on your desktop / Start menu > Properties and in this line type:-
Target: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart +playerName name +playerPassword password

Note the capital N and P in playerName and playerPassword they are important.

16. Parachute pull with space bar
1. Go to bf2 and bind secondary key for parachute (Y for example)
2. Now you have these two lines in the Controls.con file (C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Your main profile\)

ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PIWeaponSelect9 IDFKeyboard IDKey_9 10000 0
ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PIWeaponSelect9 IDFKeyboard IDKey_Y 10000 1

3. replace the bottom one with this

ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PIWeaponSelect9 IDFKeyboard IDKey_Space 10000 1

I think, but i may be wrong, that they are Temp files ones the game creates. i.e. the Shader files that it creates.

Not 100% sure on this

Thanks all, I tried to site all my work and if i forgot to, please tell me so i dont get in any trouble . Also i do think that you are right R3v4n about the temporary files , i think, but am not sure. As i said i just went through a bunch of forums looking for lag reduction, ping help, and just some fun file changes in general. Thanks and enjoy

Cool info... but changing the nade explosion ringing/effect seems like it would be illegal for some reason. But if you can change that, then it would seem like you would be quite able to remove all unnecessary sounds (wind, ambient bs sounds) or increase critical ones (footsteps, gunshots, vehicles, etc.).

Yeah well, i'm pretty sure its legal and the only good reason for that would be for the Karkand fans on infantry only ff off. Or sharqi for that matter. It just gets annoying when a freindly keeps making the screen all fuzzy. Anyways, read the forum i posted under it and check out what other people said...

I added a #9, just a site that is pretty cool. You put in a game and press "can i run it" button and it tells you the minimum requirements that your computer must reach in order to play that game and if your computer meets those reqs.

Does anybody use the hitreg trick? If so what is the best # to put it at. I've heard its 400, but 40 is pretty dam good too. Ive used both and for me i think 40 is best...

I doubt you meant lower ping, because I don't think any settings can change that. That's all based on your internet connection and the server's.
