This is a new track I started at about half one last night. Woke up this morning, added that tiny bit of "bass" to it and thats it. I'm stuck already. I wouldn't normally do this but I thought I would ask the members of bf2s what they think I should do with it. As of yet I don't know where to take it, so wanted some input
It's a laid back track, a bit dark, not dancey or anything. So yeh, tell me what you think

The bit where there is no piano is where I don't know where to go. I know something else should come in, maybe the piano go out, maybe it stay in,e but this is my first attempt at doing something as chilled as this, so I'm not really sure.

I think it's slightly too quick to repeat as much as it does. Slow it down a touch and maybe you'll have an easier time thinking up something. It's an okay beat.

I didn't make the beat, it's sampled. I'm not really good enough to try and slow down a beat either. I wouldn't know where to start. What do you mean by the first bit?

EDIT- I think you mean it's too repetitive in the short amount of time the song actually is at the moment? If that is what you mean, thats exactly why I posted it. I need to add stuff to make it seem less repetitive, but I don't really know what.

I'm just writing this as I'm listening....

The start, when the drums come in they should happen twice as often, I see what you're trying to do and it's good.

Also, the end of each drum burst have it faded out rather than an abrupt stop.

Maybe for a next bridge section have some solo staccato strings then gradually add back in the bass, a bit of classic reverse cymbal then back to your main section again.

Yeh I can see how that would work on the drums, will do that next time I open it up and repost.

And that sounds like it could work if I think we're talking about the same thing.

A thought I had also was writing some lyrics for it. Not like a whole song. Just like. A couple of lines or something. Glad you guys like it

Normally that's not something I would do. But I really wanted the piano to cut through the mix, and the same with whatever I plan to put in to accompany the piano.
Check out Empty Streets by Cyantific. Sort of approach I'm going for. Except that whole track is very low end based.
