Asians usually pay in cash and their families are likely to use you as well; good. Indians are likely to have you bid a neighbors house, negotiate a group discount and then only have the smaller of the group done and cancel the other; bad. Arabs are going to ask you to do it cheaper than you write it the first time, so you start high and negotiate down to where you need to be; workable. Average Joes just want to go with whom they like the best and price ( pre-crash ) wasn't the biggest factor, price was secondary to trust.
Fire fighters are the absolute worst people to work for.
They always cry poverty and play on sympathy to get a cut throat deal. They are likely to expect you to jump through extra hoops and nit-pick you to death, while crying about every penny.
Meanwhile the private sector is being put into a massive meat grinder.
My friends Mike and Kim and their two young children are packing to move today as they got the 60 day notice to vacate and their house is in foreclosure. They have no place to go. I have a homeless person living in my shop. My friend Dewy lost his truck. My friends Scott, Rick and James are all in pre-foreclosure. I am squeezed beyond belief myself and if things don't turn in the next six months I will run out of gas.
There is the government workers reality, and there is everybody elses.
When the only people in our country who have security is government workers we are on the fast track to complete meltdown as we, the poverty stricken pay their salaries. Companies are in freefall here, commercial properties sit vacate for over a year, there are no jobs.
