I've only played twice but I scored 117 points on the second go around. Engineer exclusively and for the most part in a tank, but I did get 16 repair points (finally got veterans repair) fixing a whole lot of my teamates shit. So close to an expert repair if the dreaded "problems with your connection" didn't appear.

They do. They acquired Alienware March 22 '06. Google Dell/Alienware. Rival Hewlett Packard has just acquired Voodoo PC which is another high-end OEM PC builder.the_outsider38 wrote:

I actually ordered 3 dell xps's originally, but becuase they took so long to send the damn things, i cancelled the order just to show them I can't wait for 3 months for their shit. So I decided to get alienware which is clearly a big fucking mistake, seeing as how im out 12000.

Now this is a very interesting read about a computer hardware review site showing you the trials and tribulations of purchasing a Dell XPS (from ordering to receiving tech support). Must read if you are going to go the Dell route. The tech support (or lack there of) is unbelieveable.

Being that BF2 players are so infatuated with whores, I am a tank whore. Specifically I prefer the T-90, T-98, then the weak abrams. I love Sharqi peninsula but I am becoming fond of Dragon Valley.
I know how much vehicles are despised around these parts but I'm at a cool 95%. As much as others enjoy running around and killing with their rifles, throwing medic and ammo bags everywhere, I enjoy killing with my tank. Sure its very one dimensional, but I'm very good at it and I help my team if I'm in a tank.
It takes great skill to be a great ground pounder (infantry) and I respect you for it. But try staying alive on Sharqi when you've killed the enemy and capture their flag over and over again. And they all gun for you with their eryx/sraws, attack helicopters, C4, tanks/apc, and mines. Its not a walk in the park. 270 points on Sharqi (in a tank no less) will attest to that.

Headset is definitely worth it. I use a Sennheiser pc150 couple that with an X-fi sound card and you have a great combination. The X-fi card gives your headset virtual surround sound even though it only has two channels of sound. I'm able to here the direction of enemy footsteps and plan tactics accordingly.

saltypeanuts, been my name since I enlisted in 1942. I hope to transfer my flag from the M1A2/T-90/T-98 to my new Type 21 Nekomata hover tank.
Logitech G5 Laser Mouse. 1400 dpi for tanks, middle 750 for infantry, 400 for sniping and using the 50 cal on a humvee or vodnik.
The key is when ATI and Nvidia release graphics boards that has DX10 support. So far nothing has been announced but with the retail consumer version of Vista tentatively being made available January of next year, I would look a little before than. I'm going to build my next computer around Vista but will wait three months after Vista is released so that they can iron out the bugs and release a service pack.
Nice moniter! By it from ZipZoomfly.com, though, you can get it for $339.99 with free shipping.arson wrote:

Take a look at this one... I bought 1 from this company and I'm very happy with it.
Plus you can mail in the $50 rebate to make it $289.

I have a Dell 2405fpw 24inch widescreen.
Found two boards on newegg.com that supports triple pci-express x16 and up to 8GB of ram (the 8GBs of ram is listed as up to 4GB on newegg but 8GB on Intel's website and supports ATI's Crossfire and Jetways version supports SLI):slo5oh wrote:
How did you end up decing on an intel chip?
I don't know where you're going to find a board that takes 3 SLI cards... since SLI is supposed to link 2 cards not 3.

The triple pci-e is broken down into x16, x8, x4
When would you use triple pci-e? ATI announced that (along with nvidia) is teaming up with Havok to create the Havok FX physics engine where you would use another graphics card to handle all physics function. So you can have two 1900xtx running in crossfire for graphics and say an x800 handling the physics. There is nothing concrete on this technology, though, only on paper so far. Nvidia also announced partnership with Havok FX but not in the same way ATI is.

I would seriously have you reconsider your choice on the Jetway version. I know that it is cheaper at $86.00 (speculating that you are getting that one) but the user reviews on that one is not very kind. For $70.00 more I would get the Asus A8N-SLI premium. It is the board that I am currently using and it is rock solid and uses an AMD processor.
In fact if you wait a month when Intel releases their Conroe core 2 processors (provided that it is not a paper launch), AMD stated that they were going to cut their Athlon 64 and x2 chips by half. You could get an x2 3800+ for the same price as the pentium-e chip you are looking at. Wait a month save a little more cash and you will be a whole lot happier.

EA doesn't strip you of rank just stats?
This map is the key on a 64 player server. I recorded 38 resupplies in one round just by throwing ammo bags near the hotel flag as an MEC. Now that everyone is grenade whoring on that map it is very easy is to rack up resupply points.Mike.Grun wrote:
I think its mostly alot of those people play Kharkand and just spam ammo bags everywhere, on crowded maps like that its pretty easy to rack up support points.
This is a great guide and I follow most of it to a tee. All would be complainers that people who are primarily armor commanders have no skill, STFU! I'm a tank commander not a tank whore, there is a difference. Good tank commanders can make a difference in a game provided the air is not filled with expert attack helicopter pilots.
As a tank commander, their is nothing more satisfying than taking out an attack helicopter thats hunting you, or a jet making a bombing run straight at you only to find a large shell from the barrel of your gun right between his teeth.
I to am working on my expert engineer's badge and I was three kills shy from getting it lastnight. I was also one repair shy of getting my veterans repair badge and I don't know if another opportunity will present itself.
Also too, I only look through the gun sight view, I use my logitech G5 mouse set on the fly at 1500 DPI to spin my turret quickly as well as rocking my tank foward and back (many a roadkill!) if I'm capping a flag. This has saved me big time on would be spec-op attacks.

I have my friends call me gunny now. I love this patch!
Definitely get an X-FI card! If you are using headphones it gives you an actual sense of a three dimensional envelope. I had my buddy try it out an he was blown away. Plus, you can enable the ultra high sound in BF2 and it totally changes the way the game sound. A lot more emersive and detailed. The explosions sounds incredible.Paladus902 wrote:
Holy.... Nice, no, infact excellent specs! Just wish I can have a computer like that My specs are:
Ram: 1024mb
Graphics: Radeon XL X800 256mb
Processor: AMD Athlon 3000xp+
Hard Drive: 200gb
Im aiming to actually get a decent sound card and a better flat screen monitor, but I'm resonably happy with what I have. I prefer playing the game rather than it looking perfect. (I can lie to myself right? )
My own SLI build funded through part of my refinance of my home.
