So far I'm feeling that the infantry combat in BF3 is worse than that of BC2 which was worse than BF2.

They seem intent on slowing the game down as much as possible to make it more realistic and I honestly don't know why. If I wanted to play a realistic shooter I'd be playing ArmA. But no I liked the Battlefield series because it uses (used to use) many arcade elements that sacrificed realism for quality combat and fun. Meh hopefully things will change when the full game is released.


Also Metro is an aids map that can fuck off and die.

Except it fucking happens every time i drop c4. No kills, guys are standing right on top of the bricks and they take no damage. Then they proceed to have perfect aim with their saiga, mg3, m416, 40mm shotgun. Like what the fuck, seriously?

I'm pretty certain there is a bug with c4 on point C of Panama.

I always rush C on that map as sniper and used to lay a c4 trap for the tanks that would roll in. Except I found that even if the tank was parked right on top of the c4 it would take no damage. I stopped bothering because it happened so often.

Well the general consensus when Vietnam came out was that it only seemed like better hitreg because it takes less shots to kill.Same reason some people claim hardcore has better hitreg.

But that's just what I read because I hated Vietnam and barely played it.

I have to laugh when people cry about players lvl 35+ joining when I'd guess that almost everyone in the server is using a smurf account

More servers need messages like this:

I personally hate the saiga with slugs.

I've found it to be far too unreliable given the spread of the shells whilst moving and unlike the pump shotguns I don't find myself standing still very often when using the saiga. And really all the pump shotguns are the same aside from the weapon model.

Why would you?

It doesn't provide any physical advantage over someone without it who has learned not to use it. Therefore any fight against a decent tanker will result in your loss because he'll have damage or armour. Also it very much prevents you from being agressive with your tank when the time comes, because you have nothing offering help in close quarters.

I've never understood why anyone would take it for tanking.

Well looking at your profile you have better results on YSNP and Diablo. It appears that we're fairly evenly matched with you at rank 659 to my 655

I'm only just starting to practice Diablo but there is one jump that makes me hate that stage.

But the skill required is what keeps me interested. Always good to challenge yourself.

Believe me I know where the centre of my screen is. I even put a dot of blue tack in the middle to test whether it was my aim or not. Yes quickscoping works sometimes but it is not consistent.

For reference I have platinum on every sniper rifle except the VSS and 90% of the time with those rifles was CQC.

Quickscoping was in BF2 and BF2142. It benefits those who know where they're aiming without looking down their scope so they don't have to sit there like a chump waiting for their scope to come up.

This is one of the big problems with choppers in BC2.

So many people (and the one's that balance) think that being in a chopper should be just as vulnerable and deadly as being infantry. That is just fucking retarded.

But if air vehicles are the same as BF2 and there is no reasonable counter then many people will end up requesting and flocking to an IO mode just like in BF2.

110 on my first and below on my third. At about 125 a message pops up saying the game will get more difficult, it isn't lying.

Yeah the run is a couple of years old but still incredibly ridiculous.

The Diablo 2 LOD speedrun in under an hour is also pretty awesome. Or for those with some staying power the 100% D2LOD in 4:22 is insane.

Something I find incredibly funny/sad is seeing rank 30 players with platinum grenade, when after 431 hours and 7.6 million points I'm only on 5 gold stars

Are you wondering why your patching is taking so long, or that the patch is so large, or just to say you got a new computer?

If it's the first two then the latest BC2 patch contained all the Vietnam content whether you bought the expansion or not.

In my opinion that gun is by far the best lmg in the game bar none and most of the people I played with held the same opinion.

I'm glad that did all that work on the stats servers to try and reduce the lag in the game. The game lags as much if not more now than before the work.

Also, fuck Vietnam. I didn't have any lag issues untill Vietnam came along. The day it became available the game went to shit.

Did you only just start using the GOL? The bug has been around since the release of the map.

It only occurs on some weapons though. I believe the one's with a full black border are the one's that suffer from it. My solution around it is to either leave when nelson bay comes up because it's a shit map or just switch to a weapon without a scope.

Well it's certainly not new but yes, it is a bug.

It only occurs on Nelson Bay conquest to my knowledge and there isn't anything you can do about it. Dice fucked up the lighting when they changed the stage from night into day.

I wouldn't expect it to be patched either as it has been there since the map was released.

I disagree. There are very few things I despise more than medics who revive in this game (unless the tickets are incredibly close or some such situation).

In my experience 80% of the time I get revived I will be killed within the next 5 seconds. All I want from them is to drop health and kill shit.

Don't forget that a loss in conquest mode counts as a loss as defender and a win in conquest is a win for attackers. This is why most people have a large discrepancy between their attacker/defender WL ratio.

The kill messages in this game can break at times. I've seen tanks get taken out by assault rifles according to the kill messages.

Another possibility is that there was C4 in the area. The explosion caused a delayed explosion in the C4 which killed them?

Yeah that PBR glitch has been around since the release of BC2. Originally it was done with the hummwv and cobra.

Just pile loads of explosives onto a friendly vehicle and blow it up while a teammate is inside. Engine loses its shit and you have a ghost vehicle.

The fact that it still exists makes me wonder if it's a fault in the engine that can't be patched or they just haven't needed to yet.

I love fully packed hueys. So many kills when I shoot them down in a tank.

It's just too easy to take out choppers with tanks in vietnam. The tanks can shoot to the ceiling on flat ground and the turret speed of the tank has been increased dramatically. Tbh it really takes all the skill out of nailing choppers in tanks.

Yeah as I understand it the stats server is under heavy load so when it tries to update your stats it sometimes fails showing you as having no stats anymore.

How they didn't see this coming is what boggles me.

Everyone who has patched their BC2 already has Vietnam on their computer so downloading is not an issue.

I personally can't play the game because I was gifted it on steam and I own a retail copy of the game. Which means getting in touch with steam support to see if they will give me a refund or credit. Why they can't just give you the key without the steam integration I don't know.

So what's wrong with Oasis conquest?

So it turns out that servers can run either vietnam or vanilla maps but not both in the same rotation, the same as it was with SF. Those 4 maps are going to get very fucking boring very quickly.

I still don't like the idea though as if they spawn looking at you, they can't be damaged untill they fire at you. So they will always get the first shot. There shouldn't be any invulnerability anyway. It's just a stupid idea.
