I seriously doubt that, based on the amount of pain he was in. Perhaps he was the first time, but I doubt he was after that. The article suggests he might not have been able to move anyway, but I don't know if theres any truth to that.

EDIT: I'd also far rather be beaten with a club than shot with a taser.
I'm not too sure about that.  In Act II, Scene 4 - Bruin Tazing, The Return, our protagonist is once again faced with a monumental decision.  Does little Jimmy decide to leave quietly or does he have a run in with Mr. Sparky.

He chose Sparky.

At one point he gets up and struggles with the cops, getting sort of violent.  He throws his weight around a bit, and gets zapped.  I wouldn't of sparked him for that, but then again, the guy got zapped four times before that and still had some fight in him.  So how active was he before he got tazed, and how active was he before he got Sparked?  He was pretty geared up for being zapped so much

What in god's name have the netherlands done? I can't think of anything.  Oh yeah. Power to the guys with the tazer.  If that guy doesn't want to obey, make sure he does after his lesson.

You get a lot of police acting like that. I've seen numerous similar incidents first hand. It's something about the job that attracts psychos who like to abuse authority. Don't get me wrong, a lot of police are fine, but there are some who abuse their power. The only way to combat these sorts of travesties is for officers involved to be punished, severely, and fired. Police who fuck up in a way that causes injury or death to innocent suspects (or as in this case just people who do exactly as they're told but don't appreciate being pushed around) need to face serious reprecussions.

A lot like the police who shot that Brazilian in London and are now back at work.

The on-lookers should have beat those cops to death.  You should never give a retard(s) a badge and a weapon.

Retards or not, if you resist an officer's commands, it's their discretion to use force to make you comply.  If we don't have this power in law enforcement, then it would get ugly.

And after watching this twice now, i'm kinda glad the punk got tazed..at least the first time.  the cops should have gotten their adrenaline rush satisfaction and simply dragged him out to the car..but no, they had to have more.

Yeah... more resisting after one taze isn't enough anymore.

yeah, that was a little far.  Sure he could have cooperated but:

1. Id be cussing pissed too if I got tasered for lack of a damn library card.
2. How eager would ANYONE be to get up after having a few thousand volts ran through thier body. That's like blasting me in the nuts with a hammer and telling me to walk it off! yeah right!

His babble about the Patriot act was lame, he was being a bit agressive, but still the rent-a-cops were on an action high and went too far.

I would say from the screaming "f you pigs" at the beginning as a sign that he was not orderly. I agree that he probably should not have been tased 4 times, but 3 cops should be able to subdue one guy, otherwise they shouldn't be cops. I would have preferred him getting sapped in his skull and KO'd to getting a quad-tase. Wild stuff.

Often times, campus police are also local/regional police doing side jobs and they exercise better discretion than these cops.

Also, it's not known if the kid couldn't walk after the first tazings.  They should have dragged him out..then in the police car, they should have tazed him in the nutzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!  lolololololllll!

haha, me and a friend had stun guns in high school, and one day, in his home, bored and well fed, we decided to play with our stun guns.  i popped myself in the thigh (highest ohm resistence area onthe body) and thought it was cool to see my leg spasm for that split second.  then he did it to himself.  we then kept doing it longer to see how long we could stand it.  neither of us lasted more than half a second..  then we started tagging each other and running around his house laughing and yelling "STOP ASSHOLE!!!" as we kept on frying each other.  we only went for the legs because we were to scared to hit each other somewhere center mass or in the head.  was pretty fun..but damn it hurt.  I'd hate to have two metal hooks pierce my skin..and then have current going into my body...that'd be 100x more painful then our leg tests!..and for 5 seconds?  hell no!

But that is the beauty of video; I don't have to be there to see what occured. You can not hyperbolize an uncut, unedited video of an event. Likewise, you can not edit an unedited video, in case it was not self explanitory enough.

A little side tip for life: Paragraphs. Learn them. Love them. For the love of God, use them.

first off the last thing that any officer needs ina icident situation, whether you like what you see or not, is for some piece of shit citizen who is not involved come up to the officer with the " i want your name and badge number " crap.  that is the fastest way to find out who is truely in chagre of the scene.
Thankfully for the rest of the cognitive population, you are not an administrative figure. It is every citizens right to question an officer's actions. That is why there is an entire Internal Affairs department of law enforcement. As with all people, the officers are innocent until proven guilty. However, to sit back, give all officer carte blanche power is quite possibly the stupidest thing I could imagine. The idea actually pains me, physically and democratically. If the officers did nothing wrong, there would be no call for their information. If a mad man was running through a mall with a gun and the police arrested them, no soccer mom is going to demand his badge number. I should get on a plane, fly to LA, track down every singe student that demanded an explaination from those officers, and shake their hands. Not because they did the civil thing, the right thing to do, but because they were not you Badshot.
