Kelvins just make more sense.  Absolute 0 is 0, I just like it too.

Kelvins are based on degrees Celsius above absolute zero, so it's metric in the end.

Whatever you learn first is the way you think of things and is the easiest for you to understand.

Try telling Americans that using miles for calculating distances is illogical and everything should be converted to kilometres.  I don't think you'd get a very good reception.  Similarly, Britons who grew up before 1971 will be able to tell you how many pence were in a shilling, florin and other pre-decimilisation measures of currency.  And they'll probably still think of temperatures in fahrenheit.

When talking about an engine size, do Americans still talk about cubic inches?  How archaic is that?

And look at this thread - http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=48147 - almost everyone who posted used imperial measurements.

Isn't Kelvin the temperature unit in the SI system?

Celcius is much more practical in everyday life though.

Metric all the way.
Grams> oz, pound, stone
Metres> inch, foot, yard, mile
Litres> fl oz, cup, pint, quart
C0> F0 (K0 best for scientific purposes)
(K)W> BHP
Dollars/cents> pound, shillings, pence etc (does anyone still use this?)(name unimportant)

No bullshit names, just add your base 10 prefix (money excluded).
