but everyone must die sometime. Let's hope the US doesn't dig it's claws in when he goes. I doubt they could - there is still a massive amount of anti-US sentiment there since the 1898-1956 era as far as I could gather.

Raul will probably become the Cuban President and will hang on for a handful of years. After his death/abdication the embargoes will probably be lifted and then we'll see what happens. Hopefully they follow the model of Brazil, Argentina, Hungary, Poland, etc. and of some other states that have suffered the ravages of Cold War politics.
