Thursday, October 5th at 7AM PDT / 9 AM CDT / 10 AM EDT the demo will be available to all users who pre-ordered BF2142 via EA Downloader. This is only for 24 hours.

Friday, October 6th at 7 AM PDT / 9 AM CDT / 10 AM EDT the demo will be available to everyone but only via a few mirror sites, ie. GameSpot & maybe EA FTP. (Think of it being very similar to BF2 Demo release).

Saturday, October 7th at 7 AM PDT / 9 AM CDT / 10 AM EDT the demo will be available to everyone via any site.

Tuesday, October 17th the full game is available in most retail stores.

You are all puppets! The über-hyping of BF2142 has worked. People preorder and pay for a game that might be a complete flop just so they can play the demo 24 hours before anyone else! I mean, what's the point here? It's 24 fu***ing hours! So you get an MP3-soundtrack, eh? To listen to where? While jogging? In your car? Cool, I can download elevator/pornflickmusic legally and for free, and they have the same content as a 2142 soundtrack. It's not like they'd have any actual artists performing there, really.. I know, I'll record the menu music from BF2 and put it to loop for 15 minutes, then put it on repeat in my car. That'll make my skull implode during long drives!

And then there's the beta-testing. Woo-motherf***ing-hoo.. Again, people line up so they can put shit on their computers.. Did you know that often actual factual beta testers get paid? Some of you were probably even willing to pay EA just so you could join the beta-testing program..

Does anyone know whether the demo is ranked yet?

I mean the unlocks are a integral part of BF2142, not just an alternative gun, they add to the gameplay and if you can't get them through ranks it's gonna be a pretty shitty demo.

It might be good to download the file in it's unextracted format and then have it hosted on the BF2S.com FTP section. Even though people can't play until the 6th they can at least get it downloaded so they don't have to rely on a Gamespot account or IGN.

Just an idea.

Dude if you belittle 2142 without any real evidence then please stay off this forum. What is it a crime to pre-order games? Tons of people pre-order games so what is wrong here? And most people don't care much for the bonus, because well its a fucking bonus. They just want the game ASAP and while I am sure they appreciate the boni its not going to be the main reason they pre-order.
