This is my second guide, so try to be lenient on me. (My first one was so bad that I deleted the post. lol)
Weapons.
Lol, the most important thing for the assault kit is fragging and taking flags. You (and armor) are the forerunners for flag caps. Take flags, dont spam the hotel with nades.
Please take flags. Please. And cover medics when they are reviving people, engineers repairing, snipers, etc.
Please use other weapons!!
Not just #3! I love how no one uses anything but their weapon #3. I use knives, pistols and such.
Smoke grenades! Please! Countless times, I've been spawn camped on Karkand and everyone was like, "RAWR!!1! I'll just run out in front of him and let him get some kills!!1 Hee hee!! ROFL!1!!"
Then me or another assault person will say, "I think I'll throw a smoke nade." Which solves everything. The enemy tank or apc will do one of two things:
1) He will stay there and camp some more when the smoke clears out.
or
2) He will come out of the smoke and get c4'ed by one of your Spec Ops whore in your squad. (You're in a squad right?)
Assault is a very underated kit because point whores dont get the team points. Fraggers galore! I love assault. I hope this guide will help you guys understand it more and play it more often.

MEC: Possibly the best choice for assault. It has the AK101 and a Grenade Launcher(as all armies). The AK101.Sumed up as - best non-unlock in the game, very accurate.BF2s Wiki wrote:
The AK-101 is an improved version of the AK-47. Being marginally more accurate overall than the AK-47 (lower multiple shot and recoil penalties), it also does a bit less damage. The AK-101 makes for an extremly deadly close-quarters combat weapon, and a very good medium and long range weapon in semi-auto mode when used in conjunction with the iron sight. Again, in full-auto mode the AK-101 will eat up ammo, so keep an eye on your ammo count.
USMC: The amazing M16. Single shot, most accurate in the game. Period. The nade laucher is also... better feeling than most.Sumed up: The most accurate assault rifle in the game, but burst shot sucks. Period, and dont ever zoom, that makes it worse. 900 RPM, same as G36E. Yet not a nub gun? Explain.BF2s Wiki wrote:
The M16 feautres a 3-round burst firing mode, which is very effective at close range, and medium ranges. It will take a couple of well-placed bursts to take down an enemy. Switch to semi-auto and zoom your view in and the M16 will make a decent long-range weapon to pick off enemies from afar. While the M16 is the most accurate of the standard Assault Rifles, it suffers from a ~20% reduction in damage per shot compared to the AK-101 or AK-47. The lower damage of the M16 is partially offset by its higher rate of fire; it is capable of firing a three-shot burst 50% faster than the others, which can be important if the target is moving.
Unlocks!! Yay!!PLA: AK-47!! Most popular assault rifle. EVERYONE knows what it is; but why is it used in PLA? You would think it would be the MEC weapon, since it is associated with Al-Queda and the Taliban more often these days. The nade launcher on the AK47 is poop. I dont like it, just my personal experience. Test them all out in a single player game, see which one you like.BF2s Wiki wrote:
The AK-47 is the most powerful assualt rifle, but the least accurate, as it really suffers from multiple shot and recoil penalties. The full automatic firing mode is extremly deadly at close range, but medium and long ranges are best left to the semi-auto and zoomed in mode. The AK-47 makes for a good medium range weapon and ok for long ranges. Remember, when in auto mode, you will empty a clip in 3 seconds, so make your shots count.
G3A3: People say it is a nub gun. I personally love it. (I called myself a nub. ) It takes accuracy, thats why I dont think it is a nub gun. PKM: 45 damage. G3: 40 damage. PKM: 100 rounds. G3: 20 rounds.
THATS why it isnt a nub gun.Sumed up: Good gun, very accurate, powerful. Kinda makes you wanna play assault more doesnt it?BF2s Wiki wrote:
The G3 is an automatic self-loading rifle manufactured by Heckler & Koch and adopted as the standard service rifle by the armed forces of Germany in 1959. The H&K G3 is the unlockweapon for the Assault kit. It’s an interesting weapon. It does more damage per shot than the other assault rifles, but its reputation for accuracy is misleading. It has the highest Min. Deviation of all the assault rifles and highest possible Deviation per Shot as well (just a little worse than the AK-47). It has the lowest recoil when zoomed mod, but has higher multi-shot penalties than any other assault rifle.
This makes the G3 the least accurate assault rifle, even when firing single shots from the prone position. In rapid-fire/auto-fire from the prone position, it becomes more accurate than the AK-47, but only after three or more shots have been fired.
There are some advantages to choosing the G3 over the standard rifles though. It gives the player regular grenades, which at times can be more useful than the grenade launcher, it does pack power that USMC players might lack, and the ring and post sight on the G3 can make long distance shots easier to line up for some players.
One other advantage the G3 may have over the other assault rifles is reduced “bullet drop” at longer ranges. Bullet drop has been confirmed, but no data on how this actually works is available.
KNOW YOUR ROLL!! Candy Ass!F2000: NOOB TUBE!! A noob tube unlock. On SF maps, with SAS, it doesnt seem to own, as assault is RARELY used on SF Maps. However, the flashbang owns the regular BF2 maps. Very accurate, I dont like it, but as I said before: personal opinion, try it out on a SF map single player to see what its like.Really nothing to sum up. Accurate, *kinda* powerful. Basic assault rifle. As used on SF. Nothing special.BF2s Wiki wrote:
The F2000 is a fully modular, completely ambidextrous assault rifle. Its modules can be changed without the aid of tools making it very versatile.
