www.askaninja.com I love that shit...

So fuk the computer specs and stuff.  Try two things before pushing a hardware issue...

1.  Try entering a Titan on a couple of different servers.  Not just Gamespy 1 and Gamespy 2, but different server providers.

2. Try removing and reinstalling your beta client.

If those don't solve the problem then it may but HIGHLY DOUBT it's your hardware.  I had the same problem, and it hasn't happened in a while... so I know that its software related.

p.s. i was a ninja from age 6-13

well my friend told me that we are not supposed to discuss any issues about gameplay and so on, sreenies are of course worse. maybe its okay, no problem when somebody (you) helped him with his problem . when i got the beta i also didnt know that i shouldnt talk about it either. I meant it like suggestion.

I've seen summat about the black-titan issue being to do with shaders - apparently you just need to delete the shader cache (in 'My Documents\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\cache\' I believe) - but I've not had the issue myself, so can't confirm it...

2-2-2-5 but it has nothing to do with that.  It is when it tries to load the textures inside the titian.  It doesn't crash the game.  If i turn around and walk outside everything comes back.  So it is either lighting or textures.  Sorry to snap but I have built more computers than I can remember and it has nothing to do with my pc.
ddr 400mhz? turn it up to 2-3-3-7. more stable and p4 dont rely on timing as much as amd
For the rest of you folks out there, take note of the ninja's understanding and generosity toward those that know no better...

I tried what you said.  It didn't work.  Changed the lighting settings to high and it fixed it.  2-3-3-7 does make my pc run slower though.  Your super fast ninja advice slowed my pc down and didn't fix the issue with the game.  G thanks for all your help.  lol

I remember my first time running around inside the Titan,  in the dark looking for the way to wherever it was I was supposed to be going and thinking " this is really a pain in the @ss"  I changed my light settings from low to high and it opened up a whole new world in there.....

I have a similiar problem, cept i can see right through the titan, but when i zoom in it's all good. Probably hardware related, my comp is the shit literally.

Me thinks you should have tried my suggestion first - changing your lighting settings forces it to re-build the shaders!

No offense but In what weird kind of world is "no. its just their pc suck" supposed to be seen as an offer of help?  Saying to someone with a shit hot system that the reason it happens is your pc sucks, of course thats not going to be seen as helpful and is posting without all the relevant facts.

It was fun though trying to get my buddy to lead me around the titan like a blind person.

It may have slowed it down a wee bit, but as CN117 said, i bet it's more STABLE

OK stop with the gay ninja shit.  I never had a problem with it being stable.  It has always ran fast and bf2 hasn't crashed it so I know it's stable.

see, bf2 isnt like windows. its more unstable, 2142 is uber unstable w/ graphics, thats why you turn up timings.
i doubt turning up your timings on an intel would make any difference at all. hell i cant notice between cas 4 and cas 5 on 800mhz.

OK if you don't think it will work then why did you suggest it in the first place?  I have not had one CDT with 2142 on my pc.  I think the biggest problem is that people are running it on computers that are to old.  Also ATI graphic cards suck IMHO.  I know you ATI guys love them and im not trying to start a war but I have tested to many card in my pc and Nvidia always produces.  Benchmarks don't lie.

PNGP FTW

You know what's really sad about this thread?

Anyone having the same 'black-interior on the titan' problem who does a search and finds this thread is probably going to miss the actual solution to the problem - which I posted - because of all your bickering.

Wait... with that system you shouldn't notice much of a speed difference....the RAM timings shouldn't affect that very much. The stability issue, according to you, is nonexistent, however, so I think we can stop right here on that part.

I will have to agree with scorpion's idea of deleting the shader cache....

Also, not that it matters to the topic, but just out of curiosity, what kind of cooling do you run on your proc?

Thats a good point.  I never should have tried to play this on a system with 2 gig of ram and a 6800 ultra and a p4 overclocked to 4 GHz.  What was I thinking.  Oh BTW I have seen the same thing happen on a 7800 SLI system with 2 gig of ram and and overclocked CPU.  Forgot to mention that both systems run Raptors is Raid 0

I think you should just keep quiet when it comes to things you know nothing about.

Or in your crazy ass hacker ninja l337 fag queer bullshit slang,  STFU n00b
6800 is archaic... pentium 4 is obsolete.
