I reakon anyone who has a Bf2 account is a "veteran" looking forward to all of this, and to be quite honest I think we deserve something like this for putting up with a sometimes shambolic game (although more often then not it's still fantastic)
Look, if you have an account, and you're willing to shell out however much EA is demanding of us for this "veterans programme", then you qualify.Colfax wrote:
Well how do they define a veteran?
50 hours?
2 hours?
2 secs played?
i don't know and it isnt clear

And what makes you say that? Just pulling random ranks out of your ass? If their was any other qualification that was just having an account, it would bet on time not rank.stef10 wrote:

In all actuality, I hadnt really considered buying 2142. I think because of that option, I might possibly.Doggehspike wrote:

lmao, cant wait.
Exclusive how? Exclusive eventually to everyone when they go back and make a BF2 account and a then a new 2142 account so they can do it too?
Bullshit. Just another bullshit trinket (i.e. 1.4) to make people think they are getting something.
*That stupid animation will be played out real quick. Also, how's it gonna look when someone puts a bullet in your face when you're flopping around your kill?

I wonder if the free rank up will stack on the pre-order rank up or, if you can only get one. I would guess ya get both. Not sure.
Was wondering the same thing.staticblue wrote:

I tend to agree with MorbidFetus. I see it as just a way for EA to generate even more pre release hype after everyone was bagging them for the poor way they handled 1.3. Just look at how many people were saying they weren't going to touch it before this press release.
Having said that, there is nothing wrong with reserving your name and then waiting for the first patch to come out before going out and buying it. At least someone else won't grab your name in the mean time.

Yes, I would of like to see some requirements, 50 hours play time seems more than logical.
I just realized one thing.
It's a rank up
Probably first rank up
100 points?....

Afaik BF2142 got a different point system, but if you compare it with BF2 levels it should be something like 100 points. DICE stated that they want people to rank up really quick. Therefore a veteran time requirement of 50 hours is way too much.PBAsydney wrote:

Except the War Dance and the BF2 Symbol i bet that you're able to reach this stuff with 20 minutes serious medic whoring on Belgrad or one of the other 4 (or 5) city maps.
To tell the truth guys you care to much about trivial things...

I'm sorry, but EA saying "pwn" in a professional manner makes me laugh.
Instant promotion? Hot damn. THANK YOU EA!!!

Raise your hand if you wish they would scrap the awards and rank system.
Sure, the first ranks will be easy to get, but we'll still get free unlocks for playing bf2. That's nothing to be complaining about. It's all just hype, but at least we'll have unlocks as soon as the game comes out.fierce wrote:
