actually, the 975X chipset has advertised support for Crossfire though originally slated to support SLI.  That being said, I can't imagine how it could support one and not the other.  In any event, there's still only 16 lanes of traffic, so you can not fully utilize two PCIx16 cards as you can in nvidia chipset  boards such as the ASUS P5ND32-SLI Deluxe which has 32 lanes.

very interesting...Learned today it was not pulled, rather they decided not to renew the license when it expires.....
