Oh I remember those boxes. Those were great at least in our memories. We would run into the same problem as the DVD cases of consoles though.

I did have a dope Doom 2 one and also the Half Life one with the pull out cover.

By the way Half Life...I feel that franchise made a huge fumble by releasing their next installment on a VR device. No one played it.

i already have to go through like 20 pages of agreements just to get to the main menu of that sony(?) motorcycle zombie game mac recommended. better check with my card to see if it's even allowed to begin with. i mean, you can buy an actual gun with a credit card in this country.

we have reached coprophagic levels of enshittification. and it's only getting worse.

some of my old collector's boxes are missing. the thieves really marie kondo'd that storage. game boxes still around in shoeboxes and plastic bins aren't exactly sparking joy, i think. most probably won't even work on windows 10.

yeah, corporate greed plus artistic timidity there. they want to sell more of their VR/console hardware type stuff, and the expectations for a 'HL3' are too great. making a little VR tech demo with some side-quest narrative thrown on top is their cop-out.
