a few non-catholic people in my circles are a little like mac in that they've watched too many mob flicks and identify as catholic through personality sponging. some of them have even adopted the affectation of crossing themselves, and buy catholic knickknacks. a lot are conservative, and have mixed and confused opinions about francis (and a lot of other stuff for that matter). on one hand, he was pope. on the other, a progressive liberal or something. they are going to be really invested in who the next pope will be, and i'll get to hear all about it from people who don't even attend mass.
i await the day i get an email from the DHS telling me i need to leave within 7 days. maybe it'll be the excuse i need to bail and fully disengage on american and hodgepodge -american culture.

steam is actually hot garbage for community function. it's mind boggling that ea, ubi couldn't do better. inexplicable abandoned code. a group of old friends and i have a yule log group chat room from years back. the log hasn't worked in forever, and none of us can change the icon. sometimes duplicates our names and squashes it all together on the sidebar. lots of bizarre, differing problems among that group with the application. mine is that my image upload to chat stopped working. lately, it started only displaying imgur embeds a fraction of the time.
somehow, imgur became even more garbage than steam at image management. site was already pretty garbage (even worse on phone). very annoying now. bunch of low-effort political content. you'd figure liberals wouldn't have to make up annoying things about trump. demoralizing news writes itself with this administration. JuSt SwIpE aWaY. too late, already read it. site needs a snopes button.
i found twitch culture strange. mac, you might recall i once mentioned you can prop a channel monthly with your prime account. used mine for friends' channels every now and then. but very awkward seeing it pop up in session and watching them go through the "thank you so much for the prime!" almost robotically. like the guy you played world of tanks with back in the day is now assimilated by the borg.

youtube has sort of gotten past my ad blocker. i need to update a few things i guess. instead of showing me full ads, it tries to load a couple at the beginning of each video, and i get to see like two frames of them before they're unloaded. for a 30 second video? how is this even watchable with blockers turned off? you'd have to tie me down like a clockwork orange.
in real deadpool news, heritage founder kicked the bucket. may he join rush limbaugh wherever that hateful clown is tied up.
