9 interview.s An attempt to see who sticks with the program long enough? The Highlander approach. In the end there can be only one who makes it to interview 7.

have heard a lot about these gruelling 4-5 round interviews now becoming more and more standard.

once you've done a competency test and passed a few in-person interviews, what more do you fucking need? i would be so mad if i spent weeks taking 5+ rounds of interviews just to lose the place to 'dan who we feel fits with the culture more'.

am i right in thinking it's not even particularly hard to dismiss someone in the states, too? seems excessive.

It sounds like "accountability." Have a bunch of different people sign off on the person so no one gets the blame

Its more of a "go up the chain" type of process. First round was with the technical recruiter. Next round was hiring manager only. Third round was hiring manager and someone in the same type of role in an adjacent part of the business. 4th round is with hiring manager and panel of VPs. 5th round is with department heads id be interacting with. Not really sure what comes after that?

I've had to take assessment tests for a few of the jobs I applied to. Most are pretty straightforward and easy to game. On a spectrum of strongly disagree to strongly agree, how would you rate the following: "I know my way is the right way all the time".

I did have to take a wonderlic test for a role i ultimately turned down. I had only heard of them because the NFL gives the test to potential quarterback draftees.kind of reminded me of old IQ tests I took when I was younger. I missed 1 out of 50 questions, and it had to do with folding some shape.

I am giving out chocolate to my students for Saint Patrick's Day.

Is this appropriate? I gave out stuff for Halloween, Valentine's, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. Easter doesn't seem appropriate. And Saint Patrick's Day isn't even a real holiday. I didn't do anything for Columbus Day.

I am generous to the kids for holidays. Holidays I approve of. End of Ramadan isn't getting anything. Jewish Holidays aren't real.

I am going to give my MAGA assistant $20 and tell her she is responsible for Cinco DeMayo.

it's difficult to wrap your head around the sneering at cinco de mayo in america. "what even is cinco de mayo?" -self-proclaimed history buff. you'd figure at the very least, an excuse for more snacks discounts would be celebrated.

in the past, you'd think american conservatives would celebrate the throttling of monarchist tendencies. nowadays, i'm not so sure.

Two of my students were arguing back and fourth. The guy said something out of pocket to the girl. Said she looked like a guy. She told him to shut the fuck up and that he is a fat nigga.

I tried to get them to stop arguing because it was making a scene. Eventually I just let them argue it out until they got tired. But if anyone took it too far I would have intervened.

The girl won the argument. There is no way to come back from being called fat.

if it's just a verbal argument i'd consider it a victory in teacher-moderation
