Grinding through Stranger in a Strange Land, not really sure if I can be bothered to finish it but I probably will
Finally finished, god that was tedious. While Starship Troopers was good this had a different, turgid, writing style.
Basically its the Christ story, the points are:
Religious morality imposed on the peons is stupid and makes everyone miserable
The peons are too stupid to choose anything else
Isn't that basically the Christ story too? Christ rejected judaism and told people to be nice to each other - for which they murdered him and carried on - and created Catholicism to boot.
There were one or two gems which mirror my own thoughts.
Rodin was a great sculptor
Religion is the product of the ego being unable to conceive its non-existence.
