You've described wet and dry, but there's a lot more to take into consideration, described depending on the first aid manual. Even different salinities affect your body (namely, blood and heart) differently, and other factors to take into consideration besides (alcohol, hypothermia). Check out secondary drowning. Fun stuff, unless you die.

Already covered under the points I listed, either can cause/are secondary drowning.

You can just say the book didn't cover everything.

The book was about fishing boats sinking, not toddlers burping in the bath.

In the eyes of Neptune, we are all but the child.

Pretty sure Neptune doesn't spend his time sitting in u-bends trying to kill toddlers.

If someone smacktalked the gods enough, I could see a modern day myth about said person being transformed into a goldfish and summarily flushed.

The stories of those pantheons had them up to a lot more petty than haunting the plumbing.

They are editing Roald Dahl's book to make them woke. 😔

I am upset. I never heard of the guy in my life but this is still very upsetting to me.

More alarming to me are reports of Florida stripping entire school libraries and firing teachers who post photos of empty bookshelves online.

I agree with updating and annotating older books to be readable or more accessible. I don't agree with altering Dahl to the extent I've seen absurd examples of, though. In his 1983 book The Witches, he writes that witches are bald beneath their wigs. According to The Telegraph, an added line in new editions says, "There are plenty of other reasons why women might wear wigs and there is certainly nothing wrong with that." Sure, there's nothing wrong with that, but why not just put that commentary in a secondary position like footnote, margins, index, companion, or a teacher's copy for class discussion? Wiping out dated or 'insensitive' language whitewashes or outright precludes conversation.

At least Dahl didn't do it to his own books, unlike George Lucas and the Han dodging edit fiasco. Making Vader go 'NOOOO' because how else could we stupids realize that he was upset. /s

How have you not at least seen a copy of James and the Giant Peach lying around? I couldn't escape it. Willy Wonka sparked so many memes it's hard to imagine you wouldn't have seen the name in passing.

I probably have seen the book around but why the hell would I take an interest in it? He wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Wow!

Maybe it just wasn't in the cycle while you were in the grades for it. I think I got book reports on it like 3 years in a row in gradeschool.

I don't think I've seen a movie of that. Seen Charlotte's Web, though. If Charlotte had been a snake, I'm sure more Christian parents would have objected. She'd be retconned into a barn cat or something.

Looks like there's a Charlotte's Web 2 movie. I'm guessing the spider returns as an avenging spirit.

Walking down the hallway at work today was like a Christmas Carol.

Walking in the other direction is the substitute teacher I hooked up with Saturday. (The Ghost of Christmas Present) A few feet behind her going the same way was the secretary I hooked up with a few years ago. (Ghost of Christmas Past). And finally going in my same direction is the guidance counselor I want to hook up with. (Ghost of Christmas Future)
