In loco parentis as a doctrine seems quite reasonable to me. Parents entrust their children to education (as required by law) for many hours in a day. You're responsible for your kids (your kids, as you've put it before) learning and (lol america) safety. As a high school teacher, the task should be even less onerous. Aren't at least some of the students a bit more self-sufficient as older teens? Who calls for a baby sitter for a 16-year-old?

I don't think the people who came up with the ad thought much of it at all when they put it out. It is not like they have the trans lady doing backflips during the super bowl. It was a TikTok thing. I never even knew she existed until Kid Rock started murdering cans in his backyard.
