What a beautiful day for my stock portfolio. My Tesla investment has already earned $5k. YTD, I'm up $21k. Minus capital gains tax thats about $17k.
What should I buy?

Alpha as fuck.
What did you buy Tesla at? I checked it out briefly, but went for Visa and was not disappointed.Nyte wrote:

Shit, you got in at a good price. When I was looking at was around 110. I decided against it simply because I thought it would be a limited market until charging stations became more available. And when I heard they were handing out this technology in the hope that other companies would be incline to like-wise build infrastructure for mutual benefit, I ditched the idea completely. I think they'll top out at around 220 in the next little while, simply because orders (despite their current backlog) will slow down.Nyte wrote:
I bought it at $87.
How's that 9% loss feeling?Nyte wrote:

no you can open a bank account in aussieland without being a resident, but without a tax file number your interest in the account will be taxed 40%Dilbert_X wrote:

10% free return is still high quality. My bank pays 0.5% interest on a savings account because it's tied to the federal reserve rate which is zero. Australia must have high inflation.Cybargs wrote:

how will you get 10% free return, the account is only for citizens and you can't take the money out of the account for at least 4 years and you have to use it to either put it into superannuation or down payment for a house.Jay wrote:

im also not sure why more people don't know about it. get in quick before tony abbott starts to cut it.Dilbert_X wrote:
Average effective return is 12.35%, but you can only put in $6k/year so its hardly worth bothering with.
Still, $4k from the govt for free is worth having, as is being taxed at only 15%.
I'm not sure why the major banks don't want to offer them.

I like to think I would have had the foresight to know when to sell even if I was invested in bitcoin, but I know I simply wouldn't. I'm a conservative investor, and would likely have ditched when I doubled my money, or maybe tripled. Makes me feel a little bit better when I miss out on huge gains.SuperJail Warden wrote:
The largest bitcoin website went down permanently after it was revealed that they may have lost all their 750,000 bitcoins due to hacking. They are now selling at $500 per coin down from $1200 in July. Hopefully people will realize the whole thing is a digital pyramid scam and not a currency alternative. Still wish I had bought some when they were $5 a coin and only a thing among drug dealers though.
