Replaced the fender on my E30, had to cut it off with shears (25 years of rust, ftw)...new one is much, much shinier than the rest of the car. Shit.
So dirty up the new fender.

Should take about 5 minutes.
I don't think I can do 25 years' worth of UV damage and wash-microscratching in 5 minutes. But it's a thought...

Also, the previous owner had repaired a dent at some point...with a pad of carpet. Wat.
So replace the entire body except the new fender with 25 year old parts.

It should take about 5 minutes.

What an imaginative name. I guess in the US it would be the Chevrolet Saloon car.

So I have undertaken the job of doing all the body work on my car over the past few months. Been trying to sand off the flaking clear coat and some of the other multiple paint jobs that my poor car has been through. There are at least 3 different types of paint on my car, the factory black, black with green glitter and black with blue glitter. The jackass who painted my car before it was sold to me didn't tape off anything so I need to find new weather stripping because all the paint that is on them is all cracked and looks like shit now.

First I fixed a few door dings in the driver side rear door.

Then I got bored and started getting carried away with the passenger side fender

My car also came with aftermarket side skirts which were beat to shit as well.

After a bit of sanding and a little filler it is starting to come together.

Car got hit before I owned it causing the rear quarter panel to push into the driver side tail light. Cut out some metal to give it a gap similar to the other side.

Just got the driver side finished sanding wise. I don't know what to do about the paint on the plastic trim and the rubber weather stripping except wait till it peels off over time or replace it all.

Yes that is a horse in the background
My plan is to rattle can the whole car with some dark grey rustoleum car primer (which you see I have used in several pics) and then paint it with this stuff called Plasti Dip, check it out it is some pretty neat stuff. Car should be looking fresh in all flat back by christmas more pics to come

Also keep in mind this is the first time I have done body work to a car (or anything for that matter) ever.

Well the paint + sprayer and supplies were only $300 and the cheapest paint job I found around me was about $1500.

Plasti-dipping your whole car? Never heard of someone doing that.

Still, looks solid for a ricer Dodge Neon.

One that I used to do to the new salesmen was: Trick them into asking the supervisors for American air. Whenever a car sits on a lot for a long amount of time the tires naturally deflate. Since my dealership was a Japanese brand and cars salespeople aren't too bright, whenever they would come to the back and ask for the air tank to reinflate the tires I would tell them that they had to empty out the whole tire and refill it with American air since the cars are coming from Japan with Japanese air. Then told them to go ask either the sale manager (their supervisor) or the parts manager for the American air kit. It worked more the 50% of the time.

I had a lieutenant looking for grid squares once. Another time I got her to do an exhaust sample by holding a garbage bag over the tailpipe and then bringing the filled bag to the mechanics.

Put steelies with winters on car. Tire pressure monitor fault comes on. No fuse labeled for that system to shut it down for the winter.

Gotta take the bulb out or live with the light temporarily, I still have my Air Suspension light on from when it was removed in place of conventional shocks, I've just gotten used to it, lol.  I'll take the bulb out when a I put a 140MPH Police speedo in
