in the end it balances out - a cash balloon you squeeze at one end or the other. You can't switch to sprint because the service is abysmal. What's left? Move to Japan?

Personally would be nice to leave it all behind.

Call them and talk to them. They don't advertise it but they don't change anyone who currently has a plan. I did a phone a while back, was a non issue.

Yes I know the grandfather ordeal is still in effect. You ONLY get switched to tiered plans after upgrading to a new phone using the new every two option. That is the soon to be change.

Pretty cool, nice web interface too. Can't see I'll be using it though, not had an issues with Tasker.

Ok I'll try and list what I've got.

When I'm connected to a cell tower near my home it turns on wifi and shows a home notification icon so I know the profile is set.

The same for work, but that also sets the phone to vibrate, turns down media volume.

When I open location aware apps - maps, navigation, browser etc, turn on GPS

When I open apps where rotation is necessary turn off the orientation lock - gallery, navigation, videos etc.

When headphones are connected open Google Music

When I am in a call turn off the notification light

When the phone is ringing, if I turn the phone over it silences the ringer

If the orientation of my phone changes to left/right side, change the keyboard to Swype (for one handing typing whilst laying down), then when the orientation is back to straight, change back to my default keyboard SwiftKey.

There's a few more I sometimes use like custom alarm clock messages but they're the main ones.

Dictionary app is always handy. Youtube, probably a navigation app would be smart, and any weather app besides WeatherBug. I know you said free apps, but SoundHound is one of the best paid apps I've seen. It's a song identification app. Worth looking into the free version at least.

got the free soundhound, it does everything i need (omfg what is this song i don't want to ask the dj)
angry birds OBVS
fxcamera
some flashlight one
maps and so-on was preloaded
app2sd (helps keep the tiny tiny internal mem on this ace fairly clear)
crossword lite
countdown timer widget
lightgrid as a live background, it owns
and spotify, because i have a 3 month free trial (won't renew)

God I played the shit out of that game. Had to reinstall it so many times and re-beat the scenarios that I ended up saving just before the win so now I have a folder full of almost-beat scenarios. Hope they copy over!
