Why do you assume you are the only person here who knows anything about libertarianism?Jay wrote:

everyone at that level is a hypocrite. Ron Paul has the distinction of appealing to the bat shit crazy ruby-ridge militants and closet racists (think ATG and g@lt).eleven bravo wrote:

jay, I think the system we have in place will be changed one of two ways - either abrupt revolution or slow, steady changes. Ron Paul is unelectable because he wants to implement radical changes - changes that will affect revenue streams that many people within the system rely on. Not only will the American public as a whole raise an eyebrow to radical changes. the people within the system will resist as much as possible. That's two strikes against the Grinch who wants to steal government back from the assfuckers.
what makes me a closet racist?KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

the point of that thread was to show that it doesn't matter how much money you throw at a school district. whenever a district comes up with failing marks the teachers union and their political lackeys insist that more money simply needs to be added to the pile the district receives. yeah, I have some pent up angst from my childhood towards m&m throwers but that has hardly anything to do with race. poor kids are generally godawful students regardless of the color of their skin.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I guess my question is this. If you look at the disparity between the two school districts including income, population density, the graduation rate in the school and everything else, why would anyone in their right mind choose to have and raise kids in Hempstead? This wasn't meant as an indictment of any race, it was an indictment against those who obviously don't have the means to bring a kid into the world that has a shot in life and yet they still have kids. In fact, they have more kids than those that live in Garden City (higher family size).
Wouldn't it be in the best interest of the residents to 'get out' before pumping out the kids?
http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=134864&p=1Ha, well I'd never advocate anything like that. This exercise has made me question what it is that makes certain humans (regardless of race) disregard their own living situation and the situation of any child they would bring into the world. I'm poor right now and the thought of bringing a kid into the world isn't even remotely an option. For some it doesn't seem to matter and I'm curious why.
Now that's a good post about education spending.Macbeth wrote:
Doesn't the U.S. government sink a shitload of money into poor schools through the department of education? I know that the Newark schools are some of the worst in the country but at the same time get shit loads of Federal money for various things as well as donations from philanthropist groups.
In any case funding doesn't matter when it comes to how well schools do.
Of course Cherry Hill is one of the states many "moneyed" suburbs while Newark is a shit stain on humanity but it goes to show that funding doesn't have anything to do with school performance. Neither does class size. In has to do with parental involvement and environment. It could be certainly be argued that the state of Michigan is doing the smart thing of trying to clean up the environment first rather than sinking money into the black hole that is Detroit schools.
As much as I love teachers, academia, learning etc. this is just another attempt of the teachers union to grab more money and power. for the love of god don't think I'm against teachers unions or their existence
The truth about the American education system is that there isn't nearly enough parental involvement. If more parents here were involved in their students education our schools would shit all over European and Asian schools. But it's easy for people to complain about funding or take shots at teachers and their unions rather than say the harsh truth that Americans have to put in some fucking effort.
tl;dr Naggers need to take some responsibility.

Yes it would. The state is not that ass backwards. Even if they did, so what? Their loss and their kids loss.AussieReaper wrote:
