Unless the software itself supports a "minimize to tray" option you have to use 3rd party software. That could change with windows 8 tho'
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Like I said, it does minimise to tray, but I need it to minimise to the tray on startup.FloppY_ wrote:

it uses 1.5-1.7Gb for me. though it's better to have > 4Gb cause of the way windows reserves a lot of RAM. my win7 64-bit install idles on like 2.2Gb usage so the extra 1.5-2Gb taken up by bf3 pushed my 4Gb set-up to the limit. factor in the fact that you launch from a web browser (150k in itself with the battlelog browser running) and will have other heavy things too (my itunes is 300k because of library size), and you quickly need more. my origin in-game chat would be pretty sluggish and unresponsive, far slower than steam chat, when i was playing bf3. the memory just wasn't there. plus, more ram = maps load way faster because it's less work for your hard-drive to read. fyi a bf3 map is about 1.3Gb a time so with 8Gb of RAM you could load it much faster.

If I edit the shortcut to run as minimised it just starts minimised to the taskbar which isn't what I want. If I press minimise on the application itself it will go down to the tray like I want it to.FloppY_ wrote:

Both fraps and utorrent start up fine minimized when I use the "minimize to tray" option...
If you have trouble with the default-install system-startup, try making a shortcut to the program and put it in Start -> All programs -> Startup and tick the "start minimized" option in shortcut properties, that has helped me when fraps or utorrent decided not to start properly minimized in the past...

Going to buy some more RAM to bring my system from 4 to 8 GB. Currently have DDR2 667. Been a while since I've mucked with this stuff, so compatibility has escaped me. Do I have to get exactly the same type and speed, or just the same type or just the same speed?
Funny story. There was protective film on BOTH sides of the window. I peeled the inner peiece off and it was fine. Still doesnt change the fact Corsair took a week to acknowledge my support request. Felt kinda lame seeing as I spend over 1000$ with them easily.Beduin wrote:
sonder.. have you solved your problem with the side window of the 800d? i remember you had some problems getting through corsair support?
