It's weird, I thought this thread was supposed to be whether WE wanted kids. What you think is a family is fine for you. What I think of a family will entail kids for me.

Already have two. No regrets. Hard as hell at times, bad move if you are career minded, but no regrets. Smile and a hug takes away all the hard tiimes. I just assembled a covered patio swing last weekend. Took a couple hours with the sun bearing on me. But come after, all done, 7 year old all smiles. All that effort was so worth it just seeing the joy in the eyes of my son.

Cousin and his wife. Super successful careers. Travels the world frequently. Can change jobs on a whim and getting job offers left and right. Just bought a new big ass home. But wife regrets not having kids. Too old to safely have kids.

Speaking of kids, I have a High School Night tonight. It's when the Private High Schools in the city/county gather at a particular school and give presentations about there schools. Yeah, an early evening I could be proxy IP playing BF3 PC.

1) I didn't know people actually cared about carrying on their genes or whatever (not a slam against ya btw). I couldn't give two shits personally.

I think it'd be nice to have kids. But. I don't think I could do it. For one, I was a little shitbird when I was young, I can't imagine how much stress I put on my parents. Second, I can barely take care of myself sometimes, I'm not sure I trust myself to raise a human being well. A lot of people say not having kids is "selfish" but I think it's far more selfish to put a life into this world that you cannot take care of properly. Not to mention it's incredibly expensive, and I'm not sure I'll make that kind of money.

I have this all planned out as well. Basically, the theory is that if you lay off sex for a couple of weeks, then you'll produce more sperm when you do have sex. A lot of sperm -> the winning swimmer has to be fucking amazing to beat all the other ones -> superior child.
