If you are making your mind up about what the finished product will be like based on this, then you are retarded.
so I should spend money on it and just hope that the core mechanics of the game are changed after a beta test?
fuck off

im talking about the same issuses bc2 had, in both the beta and the final product. I'm not talking about balance design, i'm not talking about bugs, i'm not talking about glitches. the engine is consolized to oblivion and it will never have a solid "feel" to it.
get it now?

his complaints seem to be based in the fact he has selectively forgotten what an absolute piece of shit BF2 was like.Miggle wrote:

in BF2 the netcode, the physics, the hitboxes, the gun damage ect were all inconsistent, broken and shit, it can't really be described as having a "solid feel". Whether its "consolized" or not in movement, all the problems you are talking about date back to the first BF game.
well that is because of a game design problem and a game design decision.I'm Jamesey wrote:

The problem is that the collision meshes on the objects don't line up with the actual edge of the objects, meaning that bullets can pass through them. The decision is that unlike in BF2, you don't need to shoot someone 20 times for them to die.
netcode was random but there was none of this laggy feel to it. sure the reg was inconsistent but at least it didn't take a second for shots to register. in bf3 i've found myself putting several extra rounds to every single target after they are already dead because it apparently takes a second for my rounds to get to the enemy from 5 meters. compared to quake engine games bf2 was inconsistent, sure, but it doesn't feel like i have sandpaper as my mouse mat, paste in my keyboard and a dim glass in front of my monitor when i play it. my character and the world actually respond to my actions smoothly.jmsprovan wrote:

I recognise all these things from the first few days of the beta but today its been a lot smoother. I also haven't fallen through the map today as well.

Well that's cool, even though I meet recommended specs my comp can barely run this shit. Too laggy to play :S
i last played earlier today. felt the same as day one of open beta for me, if not worse. seemed to get lower fps for some reason.

Woah! They really upped the standards for future releases now.jmsprovan wrote:

Why argue over a fucking game? If the beta sucks, so be it. Rent the goddamn full game when it comes out, buy it if you like it. If not, don't buy it. Simple.
Renting a game for PC? I don't think so, Ryan.
You have no place on an internet forum, go back to your xbox.Ryan wrote:

Us PC players can't do that.
One of the laws of BF3: shoot at a guy in the distance; two guys run around the corner into you as you're reloading.
I started switching to pistol and counting to 3 after every time i shoot at a guy in the distance before reloading, try it, it'll double your KDRDefCon-17 wrote:
