Yes, but dozens of people on death row have been exonerated years after the fact. So you would be willing to kill innocent people in order to have a cost effective means of carrying out revenge killing.SEREMAKER wrote:

Whereas I agree with your statement, a large number have waited 40 years to be executed and still been exonerated later... Timeframe doesn't matter nearly as much as Capital Punishment vs Not.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

If there's even a slim chance that there's a possibility someone is innocent, the death penalty should be put on hold. It's pathetic that that's not how it is.
Not to mention the fact that the death penalty is 1) not an effective deterrent and 2) is honestly a lesser punishment than having to spend your entire life in solitary confinement. That's what should happen with the really heinous crimes. Make them go crazy with no human contact for the rest of their life. What does executing someone do? It gives them an escape from any guilt they might have.

upsetting the bleeding heart liberals
this how about this just get ready of fucking death penalty ............ whats the fucking point when you're found guilty if they're just going to dig the case back up and dig it up again and again and again and search to see if they can find 1 cop that was picking his nose and get the guilty acquitted
fuck why stop with the shits on death row lets dig ALL cases up because I'm sure theres a few rapist that the glove didn't fit so we must acquit
why even bother with trials, if you're not on camera doing said crime with 10 eye witnesses that have 20/20 eye sight and your grandmother as the tenth witness ............. then you really didn't do the crime
But why even have the death penalty?
It serves no purpose at all.

It saves tax payers' money
It's closure for the victim's family/friends
Prosecution called 34 witnesses--not just the nine reported by the media. Defense called like four. One of those who recanted, the defense wouldn't even allow to testify. Then there's still the two eyewitnesses who didn't recant, along with all the other evidence linking Davis to the crime (matching ballistics, for example). None of which has been mentioned by the anti-death penalty media.
Weird.
Could be why 12 appellate courts plus the SCOTUS felt the case against him was solid enough, regardless, eh?

lethal injection has never been proved to be humane

but here's the thing SERE, if someone's wrongly convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison they can always be let out. if someone's wrongly convicted and executed then you can't exactly zombify him (yet)SEREMAKER wrote:

I just underwent general anesthesia two weeks ago. If someone were to have stopped my heart after putting me out, I wouldn't have had any idea whatsoever anything had happened. Can't think of anything more humane than that.
Absolutely humane. One minute they're awake, the next minute...they're not.
