I have read that they are currently running an internal EA-only alpha test of the Battlelog & BF3.  Sounds plausible to me.
Yes, yes all very plausible by why the fuck would someone who worked for EA start bragging about being part of internal closed alpha test whilst playing BC2...
Because people like to feel special, and the real people around them don't give a shit about BF3...
Yeah well he said he had just finished playing and came across as being pretty excited.
We'll all be playing it soon enough anyway.

Battlefieldo - BF3 Alpha and System Specs Emerge

Today twitter erupted with many users who have been lucky enough to be selected for the Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial. If you search on twitter for bf3 alpha you can see it for yourself.  It looks as though DICE is getting ready for public beta and are conducting a very limited test of Operation Metro.  The good news out of this is that the spec for the alpha version have been released via the Official Battlefield 3 Alpha FAQ. At this point, we aren't exactly sure what criteria the invites have gone out but already a few Key's have been surfacing on twitter. Keep your eyes peeled. In addition, a Battlefield 3 Alpha portal has already surfaced as a sub domain to battlefield.com We will keep you updated as we get more information on the Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial.

Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial is set up only for testing purposes. Keys have been distributed to invited players through our veterans program and other key influencers.

For more info, go to https://bf3alpha.battlefield.com/index.php?id=1 and read the rest in the FAQ.

Question: What is the Battlefield 3 Closed Alpha Trial?
Answer: It is a highly tech focused test period where the main purpose is to do a number of server related tests in preparation for game launch requiring a set amount of players online to ensure the final experience is as much fun and easy as possible.

Q: Is this the Beta promised to buyers of Medal of Honor: Limited Edition?

A: No, this is an Alpha Trial, meaning this software is still not at the "Beta" development milestone. The Open Beta will start in September. The exact date for when Medal of Honor: Limited Edition players can join the Beta will be announced at a later date.

Q: Can I join the Battlefield 3 Closed Alpha Trial?

A: The Alpha is a closed test and by invitation only. If you'd like to have a chance to be called upon make sure to register for our newsletter and ensure your Veteran status is up to date.

Q: What if I don't have an EA account?

A: If you need to create an EA account, please sign up via the EA Profile Page.

Q: Do I need to know anything about the Alpha Trial on the Windows PC before I start?

A: Yes, you'll need to download and install Origin so you can redeem your code, and download the client. Do this first! It'll save you time later, and you'll be able to experience the action that much faster! To learn more about Origin, visit About Origin.
Any "key influencers" on this board?  I thought not...

Looks like they're shooting semi auto. Besides, I don't think the 74 has particularly high recoil to begin with.

ever shot a 74? no matter how experienced a soldier you are, assault rifles do have more recoil than that on full auto.

that looked like less recoil than cod4 ak has.

M16 has tiny recoil irl as well, and the 74 uses smaller ammunition, not to mention the whacky great muzzle brake.

Not a whole lot of deviation there.

First, there is a one key-press "Quick-Knife" attack, which is similar in premise to the knife attack in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, but requires two hits to kill a target.

Secondly, the knife can be equipped as a weapon, similar to Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142, and can perform a stab attack to kill in one hit. This will award the player the normal version of their victim's dogtags.

Thirdly, it is possible to use it in a melee sequence which consists of grabbing an opponent, stabbing them and throwing them to the floor, taking around two to three seconds. This type of attack is a one hit kill, that also rewards the player with a special version of their victim's dogtags.
