The only mini-14 I've found in a game was in L4D. It looks like this.

I like tacticool ones better tbh, or the first picture of a regular one I posted above.

What you guys don't agree with this? I think Nathan has a point (although i couldn't care less what they call the medic, in fact, i'd rather it be called a medic...) The core BF series are fairly accurate war games, the BC series are over the top. I want to see it return to the accurate war game aspect.
Just to let you know Nathan, i read that the weapons will be faction specific, so thats something at least.
No, the core BF games ARE NOT even remotely accurate. They can do whatever the fuck they want to the game, because it's THEIR game, not yours.
The core BF games are more realistic than the BC series, that's what i'm getting at. And yeah, they can do what they want to the game, but only to a point - it's a the public that will have to buy it, so if they don't adhere to what the public want, then they won't so many sales.

So there we go, no need to be such an angry bear.
What you and a select few want is not what the public wants.

Every soldier is (should) be a certified combat lifesaver.... If the medics are any good in the unit they teach everyone life saving medical procedures and IV procedures. Even cooks.

don't really see the purpose of teaching IV procedures to everyone since it's hardly something you do mid-combat / under fire / in a matter of minutes, thus at least a medic would be available. but life-saving medical stuff such as using a tourniquet (definitely important) or popping a pneumothorax (to some extent important) would kinda be a good idea.

Giving each class some type of small health restoration would be cool. Maybe a morphine shot could give them +10 HP or something, or a bandage or something.

We all know what really matters the most.  The maps.

Read somewhere they're FINALLY going to add time of day/weather effects.  Interested to see how that will turn out.  I'd really like some night time maps, with little to no moonlight, so you can see what you're doing, but barely.  Then throw in flash lights, night vision, flares, etc.  And on frostbite 2, it'd be beautiful.  I've always wondered why they've never bothered to do this in any mainstream FPS.  I guess they're just lazy and unoriginal.

The maps and the guns are the most important parts when it all gets down too it. Comments that the weapons will handle close to the way the did in BF2/2142 gives me allot of hope in that department.

Maps are a huge leap of faith though, but they'll at least have Sharqi Peninsula in the game, so there will be at least one good map.

night maps were tested and removed all the way back in the original day of defeat... people are just too afraid/frustrated by the dark

Really? That's a little disappointing. Dusk time maps could be an interesting compromise though.

irdk though, night maps made a comeback in BF2:SF though...

though we're not really seeing night maps in any really popular games, such as *ahem* CoD... bog's too lit up to really be a NIGHT map.

IMO random weather events could be nice, most battles would be too short to have any day/nightcycle effect

I am all for night maps, muzzle flashes blinding people's NV, etc.

I'd like all maps to be available in morning, noon and night along with different weather (calm, windy, rain, hail and snow). I think it would give a difference experience to each map. Maybe you start the match at noon and half way through a windy rain and hail storm blows in

hence random weather events

CoH did that iirc, minus weather changing in the middle of the round.

To do that it would either require tons of work on the engine, or the maps would need to be saved in several different versions, which would eat up massive amounts of hard-drive space. It is nice in theory but when it comes down to it DICE has finite amounts of manpower and that manpower could be better spent on other things.

I'm pretty sure you can make the engine render weather without having to remake the base map (terrain, buildings, spawns, some textures) and just adding weather particle effects and changing the skybox.
