I wish this bloody game would let me know if it's loading or just frozen on that stupid little ricepaper square. The minute I alt-tab, THEN it freezes right as it plays that sega thingy.
Bring one European canon to the battlefield and suddenly its QQ and they go run off into the furthest corner of the map.
One guy said max 4 archers, so I loaded up 3 Monk Warriors, Bow Legend and a Canon.
That was fun.

Just finished conquering the whole Japan. Fucking Date, hate them.

SO I encounterd "The black ship" and i had 3 fully navies attack it, we fucked that ship up but one ship in the end beat all mine, one broad side sinks a ship
QUIT WASTING ARROWS!
/orc voice
/laptop detail
/Jet Li "Hero" death scene
Upkeep's horrendous if you capture it. I'd convert to Christianity if you want to play with guns and cannons.GR34 wrote:

^how'd you manage the pin cushion?
Last Jap standing in a castle town surrounded by samurai archers.
Wait until a couple of ai factions have lost against it to bring some of it's cannons down, then hit it with a couple of large bunes and some bow boats... use the bow boats to draw it's fire away from the bunes then board until it's yours. It won't use it's cannons while being boarded.GR34 wrote:

Samurai boarding party > lousy Portugese wimps
But yea, the upkeep is pretty high. But on the good side, in the hands of a human player, it's all you need to take on any ai fleet.

I REALLY don't like using the European cannons. Firing rate is way too slow. Having one on your side is a good way to bash down a gate and a couple arrow towers, or to keep a blob on its toes.AussieReaper wrote:

It's quite good at sniping an enemy general too.
Assuming it actually manages to hit something as small as a general unit in between horribly slow load rates. At the same time, I'm glad Shogun 2 doesn't do all that much to encourage you to go all gunpowder-shooty with your forces. I have ETW and NTW for that.
lol realm divide is just as annoying as the inquisitors from medieval 2. Except at least the inquisitors were assassin-able. I've had 2 ninjas killing the shogun family every turn for the last 10 turns to prevent the divide but it looks like it's unavoidable.
Download the mod I linked on the last page. Makes Realm Divide less annoying.Aries_37 wrote:
