apparently there'll be a patch coming out in a month that will provide dx11 and aa support. just in time for when i cba to play the game anymore
Shelve it for a month.
The gameplay is what I play games for, not the GFX.
Crysis is still shit.

No store in my city has it because PC Games dont take priority when they are shipped so I am aquiring the game. fyi first totalwar game ever that I have to acquire

Will be getting this soon no doubt. Big fan of Total War had them all, and shogun was one of the first main games I used to play a lot on my dial up connection (phone bill went up a fair bit) got to about the 80th ranked player in the world

don't blame you, surprised they didn't get any in near you... where do you live?
kinda missing the point though, eh. when you purchase something on a release date you expect it to be complete... that's the whole point of 'releasing' something. it's like saying to a person looking for a car: "oh yeah, come on down to our forecourt and pay for this motor... it'll have a working engine in 6 week's time"unnamednewbie13 wrote:

oh but by all means just leave it for now and have a good proper stare at it... admire the design!

empire tw was notoriously incomplete

actualy gameplay kinda sucks compared to other total wars. the AI seems to be focused on killing the player. if you could cheat it would be fun.
I suppose, but I doubt DX11 and AA are going to have a huge impact on gameplay. Either enjoy it or just sit back and wait for the update.Uzique wrote:

And if he CBA to play the game in a month, he probably shouldn't have bothered in the first place.
hiding in forests is actually useful now
This worth buying? I love the series but after the fail that was empire I pretty much lost interest.

The only thing i don't like with the capmpaign is Realm Divide... It makes diplomacy useless
I always like to take my time and use diplomacy a lot... But now everyone goes to war with you if you just take some regions
if you become the shogun everybody goes to war with you.Hallvard wrote:

Just like prison.
this game is pretty good

I've always loved the TW series but they seem to have little replayability, esp true with shogun where the clans have no distinction from one another beside the mon/color and a few minuscule bonuses that don't make any difference in the long run. I finished the campaign, capturing every province on normal in 2 days and am now playing on hard and so far I can't say I've noticed any change in difficulty. Perhaps legendary is where the fun is at.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

has anyone tried multiplayer and is it worth it?
It can be fun, but it's pretty bugged... I've won every battle except for 1 naval battle... Only one battle has been registered as "finished" so my avatar suddenly got the trait "dishonorable coward" even thou he hasn't fled once and during that one loss he got blown to peaces and fed the sharks before he even had time to waver.[-DER-]Omega wrote:

The matchmaking is a bit messed up. Got set up against a rank 7 while I was rank 1... He had a cannon ship and all I had were the starter ships, didn't even get in range of him before all my ships were destroyed. -.-
I also ended up against a guy who's army was made up of warrior monks and matchlock samurai, but I managed to beat him with some ashigaru and my veteran bow samurai unit.
Ruining people's campaign in drop-in battles is a lot of fun if you are lucky enough to end up with a decent army
I downloaded this mod today: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=436082
And Realm Divide is so much better now, was playing Uesugi and Japan was split in 2 with me and my allies controlling the east and everyone else ganging up on us ^^
