the problem with it is that you're making 'away' into the active verb, whereas it's very much the 'going' part that is operative and important
technically "i'm going to have a shower" as a common-phrase is shortened and 'lazy'... "i am going away to have a shower" would fill it out more
scottish dropping the 'going' and keeping the 'away' is retarded and makes no sense
my example about the football game is just being absurd and extended the logic of misusing words in their context
