l96a1. I like the feeel of it and it readys, an relads quicker too. M95's cross hair is far too big for long range siping.
I've done a lot of sniping and it really all depends on the situation. I normally go for the Bolt-Action rifles (M95, M24, L96A1) cos i'm more of a one shot kill sniper than a five shot kill sniper but i did have a very good round with the SVD yesterday on Mass Destruction (40 or so kills). If i'm getting bothered by helicopters or there are a lot of PKM'ers around i'll switch to the M95 but i'm not quite as proficient at heashots with the M95 as i am with the M24 and L96A1 (I get headshots with those rifles probably 70% of the time, at any distance) so i stick with those 2 when there are long range shots to be made. I'd say the best rule to follow is to stick to what you're comfortable with - if you're a hide in the corner and pick em off from a mile away kinda guy then go for a bolt action sniper (preferably the L96A1 or M24), if you're a run around and get in the thick of things cos you're not bothered about your KDR kinda guy then definately stick with the SVD, Type-88 or M95.
I'm veering towards the M95 as my favourite rifle simply because i fall somewhere inbetween the two styles of play but seeing as the L96A1 is a rifle i've known and loved in the real world and its one of the few British rilfes i'm going to have to go for that one.

L96A1 for long distance soft targets.
M95 for long/medium distance hardened targets.
M95 for long/medium distance hardened targets.
L9 hands down.
M95 here. Just gotta wait a second before firing. Learn to love the big bullets.
M24 *Strokes M24*

This is atleast the fifth thread on the topic of "the best sniper rifle".
Please, this gets very annoying.
But, M95.

L9 by far. Feels so nice and sweet in my hands. M95 just feels heavy and fat. Plus it makes a horrible noise compared to the kerrrrchooow of the L9.
M24 seems too innaccurate.
I only use the M95 for noob ejecting.

At first, I would be all over the L96A1, but more than ever, I feel its very situational.
M95 is a overall good rifle, but it takes more practice to get the shots down, however, if your good, you can effectively lockdown the enemy air assets.
The L96A1 makes infantry sniping from great distances really easy with its tiny crosshairs and faster reload. However, It does shoot a bit different from the M24, so its really a matter of preference with these two. I like the L96A1 cause I'm lazy.
Then we get to the Autosnipers, which are becoming my new favorites. They are insanely good for midrange and close up battles, and I feel they really change the sniper role if your not into sitting on a damn hill all game. I prefer the sight of the Chinese rifle over the SVD, but I think its really a matter of preference. Besides the sights, the 2 are exactly identical.
Karkand: I use the L96A1 or the SVD.
Sharqi: I use the M95 or the SVD.
Warlord: I use the M24 or the SVD
Wake: I use the M95 or the Chinese rifle (Type 88?)
Ghost Town: M95 or M24
Mashtuur: M24 or SVD
I don't really play most other maps, so I can't really offer suggestions for those maps. And I am in no way an ace sniper like Citizen. I just find these work the best for me.

Svd
L96a1
The m95 feels too clunky for me.

L96 or M24, there the same rifle but with different scopes. L96 has smaller crosshairs and reloads faster.
M95 is fine if you're baseraping or are an amazingly good shot, but it only has half the accuracy of the other two. In fact, it has the same accuracy as the SVD/Type 8#. Just a better scope.

situation. L96 most of the time, but up close the L seems too accurate, so i go M95 for kark only pretty much.
M24 for SF Night maps and warlord, the M95 for the rest

svd
wait thier are sniper rifles
when did this happen
when did this happen
I don't know why, but recently I'm getting a lot more kills with the M95 - with less hits, of course (than the L96)

M24, then L96A1 usually, however, the M95 is also very good because of the advantage to be taken by the bullet drop factor. Say an enemy sniper is hiding behind the large rock on the artillery island on Wake, and he's out only enough to hit you. There's only a few pixels of him to hit, so i shoot above the curvature of the rock and hit him.

SVD , and in some situations ( like battling between two sides of a river on Karkand - L96A1 )
definetly feel that it depends on the situation for me....i love the l96 and use that the most but sometimes wish i had the m95 when a chopper is hoverin right in front of me or the svd when theres a group of guys and it would be shooting fish in a barrel.....being able to take one shoters and not have to reload......overal though l96 hands down!
M95, but I always go for sniping at Medium/Close range and probably every second kill I get with it is shooting someone out of a jet/chopper.
L96A1. Whenever I get this rifle in my hands, my KDR seems to get a boost.
(I don't have any SF unlocks. )

Type 88!
svenska dagbladet... SVD that is!
