Huh, I still like playing BC2. Sure there's some that hack and snipers have mortar and that is annoying at times. Makes it all the more satisfying to counter-snipe or knife them.

Played this game the other day after... many months. It's so fucking laggy wtf! I did get a new monitor (1280x1024 to 1920x1080), but I also upgraded my videocard (GTX460). Guess I'm being bottlenecked by my processor (C2D E8400). So frustrating. Even with everyone on low I'm getting 20~30 fps. Guess I should lower the resolution?
Gameplay-wise, had an ok time. So many shithead snipers out there who do absolutely fuck-all. I didn't get CG'd left and right though, and I did get another gold star with the M60 (was 2 kills away) and another gold star for the CG (was 6 kills away). Despite horrible framerates, I played alright. Most of my team did not. Meh, at least in MW2 you can run around on your own and get nukes and whatnot. You'd think by now the retards would've dropped out of BC2, but it appears that's not so.

Something must be configured wrong - I get 45 FPS on average @ 1680 X 1050 with a C2D E8400 and an HD 5670 on mostly medium settings. Are you running the latest video drivers?mtb0minime wrote:

Yep. Downloaded them and installed along with the new videocard yesterday. I suppose I could try reinstalling the game and see if that does anything. I used someone's custom BC2 launcher to tweak the settings, as well as the in-game options for the settings. Got crappy framerates both times. It's a little worrying considering that when looking at charts of the videocard performance, they were playing at 40+ fps.TopHat01 wrote:

I have got a 22'' widescreen (1680x1050) also an E8400 and a HD4870. Where before on medium I could get around 50-60 fps, the last time I played I couldn't get past the 40 and regurarly dropping to 30 and 25 fps, totally weird to be honest.
Obviously the CPU is the bottleneck but we both should be able to get some more FPS, especially on low

I already OC'ed it to 3.6 ghz. I could easily push it to 4.4 Ghz but I've done that before and the gain over 3.6 ghz seemed minimal at best.Finray wrote:

Q9550 has roughly the same performance as an i5, bit worse. You won't need to upgrade for a good while.
That's the way I saw it, and why I spent ~£200 on a new mobo/CPU.
If SLI-ready mobo + good CPU < Q9550, that'd be awesome. ...though unlikely.
