- what stats do you use to judge how good another player is
i judge people by how well rounded they are
if their SPM and K/D ratio is high, but they suck balls at say ground combat... then i don't consider then a very good player
me, i'm a tank whore, but i'm pretty good with dem LMG's with an accuracy higher than most people's and almost a 1:1
no, i don't really consider myself a "very good player" but i think i'm pretty good
i suck at a lot of things though, so i'm no where near what i would like to be, but you can't have everything
i think the best player in BF2 hands down is Slidero (http://bf2s.com/player/43380940/)
he's good in virtually every aspect of the game, he plays with everything, and on every map
he's totally my idol

well the claymores i put down the one time helped some, but no one else was there so it didnt work so great when you just got revived
also if i can learn to do that hitman hitting the mec chopper from hotel TOW thing, then thatd be pretty sweet

that usually only works if the enemy pilot is completely fucking blind. a 3 foot missile with a tail is rather visible, especially when moving right towards the cockpit.wahjot wrote:

although when it does happen, its funneh
ahh those claymores were annoying.

something interesting to look at is their kicks/bans... of course u can just be an ass and get alot, but i know alot of good people get banned/kicked alot just because they piss off the wrong person ><.
spm is misleading for sure... i can have a 5.0+ spm if i play karkand infantry only... as opposed to my normal 3.0 spm normally.
and well my kdr aint that great cuz im a very aggressive player ^^

KDR mostly.
Like someone said, you can be an awesome shot with the sniper rifle but have a low score per minute. I always judged people by their KDR, which is kinda lame seeing as the whole camping thing happens a lot.

SPM, K Ratio and Time played vs score. Kills and Deaths.
i dont think that sats can truly tell a players abilities and how much he contributes to a win for his team.
that said, i have respect for people wih a high SPM and how they work the flags
i dont have a high k/d r, but i consider my self to be an above average player

Definitely small arms k/d and SPM. In my opinion you shouldn't have more than 30% of your overall kills be from vehicles. since thats about how many vehicles there are per team on most maps. No one wants to be a whore.
I think #times defending a spawn point is a good indicator because usually that means that you prevailed in an offensive (more perilous) situation. Accuracy, perhaps, can be an indicator, but sometimes man you just gotta do what you gotta do to knock the other dude down.
As far as being a vehicle whore, that I am definitely not. But I will say, there are some amazing pilots out there, and if they are good enough to pwn, then by all means, do what you do well!! true, it's frustrating for us infantry, and for the tank drivers, but why do your second-best to appease weaker players? I don't think someone should have to.
If you don't like vehicle whores, then play a map with fewer vehicles, and spawn anti-tank.
I think another way to tell if someone is a good infantryman is their KDR with certain kits: Medic, AT, Engineer, support. Assault stats you need to assume are a poor indicator (for the most part) because of the noob tube, Spec Ops because of the C4 whores, and snipers because they dont' engage in combat, they sit back and plink at your head.
As far as I'm concerned, a guy who can maintain both a positive KDR and a high team score is a good player.

I DO! haha
Overall... K/D... doesn't matter how you play, the higher rank you get, the better your K/D ratio should be. This doesn't mean that by the time you reach Colonel or General yours should be 5:1, but it should be atleast 2:1. K/D with specific weapons are important depending on what kit, and veichle they like most. I for one love sniper and Armor.
Not nececairlly disagreeing with you "Not", but you should have an acuracy of 99% and still suck, just because you hit someone doesn't mean you kill them though it does mean that you have a better chance. Does that mean if you have crap accuracy that you will probably do worse than someone with better accuracy? Just putting up that argument.
Cheers

SPM Favors City maps, if thats all you play it will be higher. So you all Fail...
K/D Ratio can be strongly influenced by your time in Vehicles (Air Vehicles Specificly).
Knowledge is Power, and being an experianced player who knows alot and does it all, is someone who is good.
Anyone who plays 1 or 3 maps can't be considered good. Anyone who plays only Spec. Ops/Medic can't be considered good. Anyone who uses one vehicle and always uses one vehicle whenever they get the chance can't be considered good. You can be good at what you do, and theres nothing telling you what to do. but to say "Im awesome because I have 1000 hours on Karkand with a SPM of 3, and a K/D ratio of 2.5 and 300 Hours in a Tank".
My favorit Stat is K/D Ratio as its consistant in every map, only flaw is that getting disconnected from server/Kicked results in a Death. Teamkillers cause deaths and simple connection problems or Windows pop-ups that may occur.
SPM and KPM will be higher for thoes who play Karkand 24/7 as opposed to people who may choose to play Daqing Oilfields 24/7.
I consider myself a very good player, sure I don't have the greatest stats, but I am proud of my stats because I am far from a Whore (Except when it comes to Choppers, I love to be alone...). I have spent 51% of my time in game in a Vehicle, and have a Decent K/D Ratio in almost all things (Except Medic which I haven't played much of in the last 300 Hours of my Account time, and I have clearly improved) And my KPM as Engineer, my Most used kit which I haven't used in 300 Hours has less kills then all other kits but has the most Hours...
Anyway, I used to say this in the past, and it just past my mind again just now... Someone who plays EVERY Map, can't be compared to someone who only plays Karkand. Thoes who play Karkand 24/7 Can only Compare there stats to other players who play Karkand 24/7. Thoes who play only City maps can only Compare stats to others that play only City Maps.
It makes sence...because My stats are not going to be as strong in alot of catigories to thoes who play Karkand which has the most compact battlefield, and the highest frequency of running into enemy troops.
If you agree with me let me know... I'd like to think Im not the only intelligent person on this game.

Best player I've ever played with, is [BHA]^Shadow_Ownz^
Here is his stats, pretty impressive, but play on Moders Karkand and watch him get scores like 90 30 30 8 without vehicles, its crazy, He's very accurate and if you meet him one on one you probably wont kill him.

There's always a lot of reasons why some people suck and what not.
But KDR, SPM and time on maps.

Anyone willing to split a case of beer is always good in my books
Stats don't really do you any justice. Like me, my current account is my first, so my stats suck.. but that doesn't mean I suck. I'm pretty good now, but my stats don't back me up.
http://bf2s.com/player/64103713/ - He is most definitly on a second or third account.

I don't think so CrazeD
I'm probably 1 of the best players evAr. Maybe in the whole county.
Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it
Yeah, why would you log 600 hours on a 2nd or 3rd account. Look at -=RD=-Volx's stats, hes #3 in the world. I doubt hes on a second or 3rd account, same with BushViper, they're just that good.CrazeD wrote:
